5 Favorite Ankle Boots

Happy Thursday, friends! My 26 Days of Fall Fashion style series starts tomorrow, so I decided to put together one last edition of 5 Favorites before I dive into a month of outfit posts. Ankle boots are one of the biggest and most versatile trends for fall 2017 so today I’m sharing my 5 favorite ankle boots.

For styling tips, you may like my post on how to wear ankle boots. They can be a little tricky at first until you get used to how to pair them with different styles of pants, but once you get the hang of it, they’re a great way to take your outfits from summer into fall.

These aren’t necessarily the trendiest or the most popular styles this year, but they’re my personal favorites from my wardrobe at the moment.

My 5 Favorite Ankle Boots

#1. Jeffrey Campbell Burman Split Shaft Booties – This taupe color goes with so much! I love the casual, slightly edgy vibe of this bootie. The low heel makes them super comfortable, and the low shaft makes them easy to pair with ankle length skinny jeans. I’ve already styled these in this post, and they’re featured in several outfits I’ve already shot for 26 Days of Fall Fashion.

#2. Vince Camuto Fritan Booties – These grey suede booties are fun because they’re a little dressier than some other styles I have. I snagged this pair at the end of last season when they came in a Trunk Club, but they’re still available at Nordstrom Rack. A similar pair this year is the Vince Camuto Fileana split shaft bootie. I love the cut outs and the split shaft as well as the tapered block heel. You can see mine styled in this post.

#3. Vince Camuto Karinta Block Heel Booties – These are more for summer/early fall, but I love the whipstitching and the sling back / pee-toe combo. Super sexy for booties, especially in the black! I styled them in this post, and I can’t wait to wear them again.

#4. Sam Edelman Blake Booties – I purchased these at the end of last year, and I particularly like them with bootcut jeans, but you can wear them with skinnies as well. Mine are available right now at 6pm.com, or a similar style this year is the Nine West Argyle bootie although it’s a little dressier and not quite as rugged as mine. You can how I styled mine last spring in this post. I can’t wait to wear them again this fall!

#5. Vince Camuto Kensa Peep-Toe Booties – These are more of a spring and summer bootie, but I’m including them because they’re definitely one of my favorites. Between the blush color and the perforations and the open toe, I think they probably need to be put away for fall and winter, but I’m going to miss them!

Well, I hope that was fun. I’m super excited to kick off my fall fashion series tomorrow where I’ll be styling 26 fall outfits over the next month!

  1. I am looking forward to the fall series! I am excited to break out my ankle booties! Especially the new BP Faren ones I picked up during the Nordstrom sale!

  2. I’ve had ankle boots for years, but I usually wore them under pants where you couldn’t really tell they were ankle boots!!
That’s why I love seeing the new ways to style them. It’s so nice to wear them with skinny jeans or dresses so you can actually tell that they are ankle boots!!
My newest pair is a Vince Camuto pair with bling and cutouts!!

  3. Great post! I’ve ordered taupe and grey booties but now I’m thinking I should have ordered black as well. I wear black pants for work frequently, what color bootie would you wear with black pants? Will the grey or taupe work? Thanks, Jo-Lynne!

        1. Well, it’s both, lol. But yes, definitely what you’re wearing on top comes into play. So like if I had on a light top and black pants, I may want black boots to extend the line of the leg and keep it cohesive, or I might want a lighter shoe to bring in some of the light colors from the top and bookend the outfit. If I had on a darker, bold color top with black pants, light taupe booties would probably look out of place. But charcoal grey might work beautifully. I would say black boots with black pants are safest. When you wear a contrasting shoe, you have to start taking more things into consideration, I think.

  4. I am looking forward to wearing my new booties this fall. Working at wearing them so I look like I know fashion will be good for my brain.

  5. JoLynne, I wanted to Thank you for encouraging me to try Premium denim. I think I’m hooked. I purchased 3 pairs from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I got the Kut from the Cloth (Diana), Joe’s Jeans and the Paige. I’m wearing the Paige today. They fit like a glove and I’ve gotten so many compliments. I feel like a million bucks! By the way, I’m not a spring chicken either. Soon to turn 57. I can’t wait for the Fall Fashion series to start. Thank you and I love your blog!

  6. I’m laughing at what you said about #5. I live in Savannah, GA so we can wear those all year round except maybe a few days. 🙂 looking forward to tomorrow! I love that you are so down to earth.

  7. Jolynne, love your 5 Favorites and I am looking forward to fall fashion series. Before I go I want to say I am always impressed with the amount of information in your blog posts. Even though I think I know how much time and effort you put into your blogs, I am sure it is so much more. You have a connection with your followers and you are able to convey the joy you find in your job. So thank you and much appreciated !????????????????????????

  8. The new blog format looks great! I have to admit I will kind of miss the “mom jeans” slogan (because it so applied to me-ha!), but what you’ve got there now is up to date and spot on. I really look forward to your blog each day, and appreciate the work you put in. Looking forward to the fall series tomorrow!

  9. Love love love your new website design! I liked what you had before but this one just ramps that up even more. Very clean and modern looking! 10. I’ve brought five pairs of booties home over the months and all have gone back. They slip at the heel with every step. Am I doing something wrong? My choices have all been low heels because I’m tall and I’m busy on my feet all day as a teacher…I haven’t found a flat that gives enough support. I feel like there must be another shoe out there for me.

  11. I can’t sleep. My son is 21 and no matter the age they will always have our attention and love.
This post is great and so helpful!

Thanks and I hope you enjoy your weekend.
