Happy Hump Day! Are you enjoying this fabulous fall weather??

I feel like this has been the longest fall in history. Usually it’s such a short season, but this year it started early and then it’s kind of stalled — at least it has here in eastern PA! I’m kinda diggin it. I’ve been having fun with outfits, trying more layering and accessorizing than usual, and generally enjoying not being too hot or too cold.

This week I wore a lot of jeans. I mean, I always wear a lot of jeans. But this week it’s ALL jeans. But hey, this is real life I’m living here and some weeks it’s just not that glam. Here’s what I’ve got. I’m working backwards this week. It’s just how the photos loaded, and no one cares, right??

Day 1

Yesterday I wore this for a mall/lunch excursion with a friend. I have had this orange sweater for about 10 years. It doesn’t get a lot of air time because of the 3/4 sleeves. It’s more of a transition weather sweater.

DMS20

I’ve been trying to find something to put this green necklace with. It’s from Target, I just picked it up on a whim, and I try it on all the time and it never seems to work. I like the way it fills the neckline of this sweater though. I accessorized with gold bracelets.

It was the perfect weather for a light jacket, so I wore my BR Utility Jacket. I thought it worked well with the orange sweater. And those jeans are the Paige Skyline Skinny Jeans in Twilight. They are the BEST dark wash skinny jeans EVER. I get compliments every time I wear them, they hold their shape, and they’ve washed and held up great. (I’ve had them for well over a year.) If you’re gonna splurge, splurge on these!!

DMS18

And on my feet? Those right there are Crocs.

DMS16

Oh yes I did. They are SO COMFORTABLE I can’t even tell you. I went to the Crocs store to get fuzz-lined slippers for winter. I live in their flip-flops around the house because they are the best thing I’ve found for babying my feet with their plantar fasciitis issues. I saw these and decided to slip them on to see how they looked and felt, and I was shocked at the comfort. Plus they stay on my feet when I walk around, even though they’re not super tight. They don’t pinch my toes or dig into my heels. They are my new best friends. And I don’t even care that they’re plastic. So there.

Here’s one more shot of the outfit because I took about 100 and couldn’t decide. Pardon the poorly lit indoor selfies. My husband was at work and the kids were in school, and a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!

Day 2

I wore this the day we took our son into the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (affectionally referred to as CHOP around these parts). I have a whole story to tell about what we’ve been through with him and trying to find the right doctor to perform the surgery he needs. I will write it up . . . one of these days! When I get a sec.

At any rate, it was another gorgeous fall day so I dug out this old green sweater and cords. Both are so old I don’t think I can even find anything similar to link to. The necklace is one of my faves. It was a gift from my friend Lisa at Studio Jewel the year we roomed together at Blissdom. That was a fun time!! And again with the Crocs!DMS14

Day 3

This was my church outfit this week. I knew I wanted to be comfortable because we were going straight from church to visit with my inlaws. But I wanted to be dressy enough to go to church and out to eat at a nice restaurant.

I pulled these black ponte knit pants out of the back of my closet. I sometimes forget about these. They almost wear as leggings. I played around with a few sweater options until I came upon my trusty LOFT boyfriend sweater in mustard. I like that it’s long enough to cover the bum, since as I said, these pants sorta look like leggings.

The boots are Franco Sarto Poet Boots. I picked them up on a big sale at Lord & Taylor last winter. I was just wandering through the shoe department looking for nothing in particular, and I landed on these. I couldn’t resist their wiles. They’re now available on Amazon.

DMS11

I completed the look with a cream tank top and my leopard scarf from Francesca’s. I like how the browns in the scarf pull from the brown in the boots, and even the tortoise buttons on the sweater. The bracelet is also from Franscesca’s. Here’s a slouchy closeup. Someone needs to work on her posture!!

Day 4

This was just a casual Saturday outfit — tank, hoodie, old comfy jeans, and since the weather was on the warmer side, I wore my Orthaheel Julie Slingback Sandals.

DMS09

My one attempt at prettying up the outfit — this Silpada mixed stone necklace. You REALLY know it’s a lazy day when I pull my hair back!

Day 5

I can’t remember where I wore this. Probably running some errands and working from home. The coral and gray striped cardi was an outlet purchase, I don’t even remember which one. Probably JCrew or Banana Republic, knowing my shopping habits. The gray tank is OLD and probably should only be worn to sleep in, and then I pulled on my favorite skinny jeans. I like these because they’re not super casual or super dressy. They just seem to go with everything.

DMS06

I felt like it needed a long necklace of some sort to break up the vertical line so I chose this silver necklace from Target, and I wore my Taos ballet flats for comfort.

DMS07

Day 6

Finally, I wore this outfit to my girls’ elementary school to work the book fair and then to run some errands. I love the juxtaposition of boots with short sleeves in the fall. The charcoal gray top is from LOFT last fall, and the plum skinnies are from a local shop. My Dansko Brinkley boots are ancient and only available in limited sizes on 6pm.com.

DMS01

I threw on this silver necklace because I felt like the top needed something, but I don’t like how it lays. I’ve never known what to put with this top to make it work. It’s gathered across the buzoms, which makes it difficult to accessorize.

DMS02

I tried to get the back view because I love the detail on the back of the shirt. Pardon the bum shot.

And someone needs a haircut!!!

Anyway, that’s a wrap! Tell me what you’re wearing this fall and what your biggest fashion challenge is right now. I’m fishing for Fashion Friday topics!!!!

  1. I have those crocs. I bought them last spring and lived in them this summer. I love them! I wish I could find a pair of shoes for winter that I can throw on with almost anything and that is as comfortable.

  2. I saw those cognac Franco Sarto boots @ TJ Maxx earlier this season, in case anyone is looking for them. I don’t know if they’d still have them, but it’s worth a look if Amazon doesn’t have your size. I believe they were $99. I was considering them, but then ended up getting something different @ the Bass Outlet.

  3. I am wearting dresses, dresses and MORE dresses !!! I work in a bank wealth management department so I have to look pulled together and professional. About this time of year my dresses come out, the tights come out and the boots. And until about mid March it’s my work uniform – every work day !! I’ve started “collecting” dresses and am running out of room in my closet (that’s a bad thing right, lol !?!?!?). Sweater dresses are my favorite and I would recommend Hue Luster Tights (they have a nice slick feel and do NOT stick to the sweater material).

PS and BTW — LOVE your fashion posts and how you pull your outfits together — great ideas you have !

  4. I think I need to swing by the Croc store.
Loved all of these outfits. Funny you said you need a haircut. I was just thinking how great your hair looks. 🙂

  5. Too funny that you are experiencing a long Fall, when in my parts((Virgiinia Beach) , we have had a longer summer and are just getting to Fall temps. Love the orange with the green necklace. The short sleeves with the boots is fantastic!

  6. Hi there! I love all of your outfits and especially love the Loft mustard boyfriend cardi outfit. I clicked on the link and discovered that everything is 50% off on the website-today is 10/24/13-not sure how long sale is on. Loft site said use “everything” as discount code-FYI! Sad part is they don’t have the mustard color for sale but there’s plenty of other choices.

  7. Hi I had read your post about difficulties finding shoes with your planter fasciitis and I totally understand. The website “barkingdogshoes” is amazing. The sites owner does great detailed posting on all types of shoes for all foot issues. Lovely person who even addressed an email question I sent in her blog. I don’t know her nor am I affiliated with the site in any way. Just a shm who always searches for comfortable stylish shoes that help my feet problems and severe back pain. They highlight shoes in all price ranges with excellent reviews. I highly recommend it! Again enjoying your blog!

  9. Autumn just really started down here in Delaware and so far so good but I can’t believe in less than a month it will be Thanksgiving. Love all of your outfits – perfect for Fall in PA. Visiting from Style Elixir.

  10. I am so loving your relaxed but well put together looks. Sometimes I think moms forget that we can still rock it out!

I would love for you to come and link up to That’s Fresh Friday and share!

  11. Enjoy your fashion posts! I have a different body type, but still usually find some info or inspiration to take away! My fashion challenges right now:
    1. affordable and appropriate exercise wear (I don’t like baggy tops for working out but need to look professional and have an array)
    2. short dresses (knee or above b/c I have short legs) that can be worn alone for dressy occasions but utilized more frequently by dressing down with layers. I dress up so rarely that what I get needs to be versatile. Is this possible? 🙂
OK, that’s pretty specific, just thought I’d throw those out there! 🙂

  12. Hi,
Just wondering where you purchase your t shirts. Love the colors, especially the plum color in a recent post.
