Update Your Makeup for Fall

update makeup fall

Can you BELIEVE it’s time to talk about updating our makeup and wardrobes for fall? It’s finally starting to feel a bit more fall-like here in PA after a smoldering hot start to September.

I’ve found myself already making some changes to my makeup routine. I have been using foundation rather than my CC Cream. While the CC Cream was nice and light for summer, I’m enjoying having more coverage that the foundation provides. My go-to is MAC Studio Sculpt. I went to the MAC store last fall and had them match my complexion, and it’s still working for me.

The other thing I’m changing up is my lipstick. I’ve found myself going for more rose tones with a hint of brown. I line my lips and fill them in with this Beige lip liner by Bobbi Brown.

Then on top, I’ve been going for one of two Sonia Kashuk lipsticks I have that harken back to my days with the Target Inner Circle when we got to meet Ms. Kashuk and learn some of her best makeup tips. We came home with her entire makeup collection (I KNOW!!) and while much of it is gone, I still use a lot of her lipsticks. Nude Pink is a bit lighter and nice for casual days. When I am dressing up a bit and want my lips to make more of a statement, I like Roseberry.

Lining your lips and using the lip liner to fill them in helps your lip color last longer. But word to the wise: go easy on lip liner. You do not want to see a strong line around the lips. That’s so 1985. Rather your lip liner should define your lips and and support your lipstick or lipgloss. When wearing bolder colors, you can even smudge it a bit around the edges so it’s not so harsh.

I’ll also probably start wearing more eye shadow. When my summer tan fades, I always feel like I need more makeup to compensate. How about you?
