Scenes from Christmas

I’m baaaack!!! It’s been awfully quiet around the blogosphere this week, and I decided I needed some time off so I’ve hardly been on the computer since we left for Virginia last Saturday.

We had a whirlwind trip to Roanoke and back. I think I need a vacation from my vacation, but when I got home I hit the ground running — unpacking, organizing and cleaning to get ready for the 2nd half of my Christmas with the other side of our family. It’s all good, though. It’s nice to have a break from work and spend time with the fam.

Here are a few photos from our Virginia Christmas.

Between Christmas and my daughter’s birthday, we basically spent our weekend eating and opening gifts. My mom stocked me with some cute new running gear from lululemon and a set of cozy flannel sheets. My husband gave me the leather jacket I had my eye on as well as a Nexus 7 Tablet, which I am having WAY too much fun with. And my brother and SIL gave me a beautiful handmade basket with 2 bottles of local wine inside — they know me well!

Of course I’m at the age where the giving as as much fun as the getting. I gave Paul a 35 mm lens for his/our camera along with a CBTL coffee/espresso machine. I love giving gifts that I can enjoy too! (I’m generous like that.)

The kids were thrilled with their loot, and it was especially fun to see my son’s reaction when he saw his drum set. We debated a long time about what to get him, and he was pleased, which made the hours of research all worthwhile. Of course, it’s been rather loud in my house ever since. Good thing we have a basement!

How about you? Was Santa good to you this year? What was your favorite gift to give or get for the holidays?

  1. It’s nice to have you back! I miss having flannel sheets on our bed. We couldn’t find any in our price range when our other ones bit the dust, so we switched to jersey knit, which is very close! Merry Belated Christmas!

  2. So glad you had an awesome Christmas! We all got lots of goodies and my favorite thing was my new coffee mug shaped like a camera lens!! What’s funny is I tried to show it to my husband once a few weeks ago on Amazon and he was all like eh…he said he’d already had mine since October! 🙂

  3. Glad to see you back looks like you and your family had a great time! Flannel sheets are the best. My favorite gifts I gave to my girls were the dream lights they’ve been wanting them for months and seeing their faces were priceless. I got a bag and shoes I’ve been wanting for a couple of months now, so all in all everyone had a great Christmas

  4. Your Christmas looks lovely! I’m not a mum or housewife, and I actually live in the UK but I stumbled across your site and I have to say I love it! xx
