Oh Mother Nature, You’re SUCH a Tease

Guess where I’ve been this afternoon?  Wait for it . . .

The park.

I’m sure you’re thinking, And?  So what?

Well, it’s January in Philadelphia.  And I don’t do the park when it’s cold outside.  In fact, the conditions have to be pretty much ideal for me to endure a trip to the park.

But today the high temperature in our area is 69 degrees.  That ties the highest temp on record.  And it’s sunny to boot.  It’s been like this for two days, and it’s absolutely GLORIOUS!

Naturally it’s a short-lived reprieve, and I’m sure I’ll be back to complaining of the cold shortly.  But for now, I’m off to enjoy what’s left of the afternoon sunshine on my front porch!

  1. Don’t you just love those little suprises from mother nature.
Last night my son over heard my husband and I talking about a tornado warning close by. WHAT??.. my son says.. A tornado in winter????!

  2. The weather’s been great, hasn’t it? We hit a record high of 65 in Chicago yesterday. Although it was foggy and dreary, I loved being able to open the windows and air out the house. Today I have my fireplace on.

  3. I am so jealous that you were able to head to the park. Thanks to the snow a week ago (16 or so inches) and the 61 degrees today mud is a big issue. I am nervous that this beautiful weather is just making us put our guard down for the next inevitable storm.

Enjoy the afternoon on your porch now. 🙂

That’s exactly how I feel about going to the park! Enjoy the weather!
