Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review

I’ve had quite a few people mention my skin lately and ask what I’m doing. In addition to using the Tria Laser, which is now on Level 3 and I do believe is making a difference in the texture of my skin, I’ve also switched to my favorite summer makeup base — my Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer (affiliate).

It really is the “illuminating” part that I think people notice. I’ve worn both the illuminating and the regular, and I notice such a difference with the illuminating feature. It truly makes your skin glow.

Since I’m used to wearing full-coverage foundation in the wintertime, a tinted moisturizer takes some getting used to, but I go a bit heavier on my face powder (I wear a mineral powder — Jane Iredale PurePressed Base (affiliate) — that has pretty heavy coverage) to compensate for the lighter coverage of the tinted moisturizer.

I love that I can pretty much skip my regular moisturizer when I use this product because it has the moisturizing ingredients in it (it’s not rich enough for my dry skin in the winter months, but in the summertime it’s perfect) and it also has an spf 20. So it’s truly a 3-in-1 product! Moisturizer, sunscreen, and foundation. BOOM!

Yes, you’re seeing this picture a lot lately! I like it so much, I’ve made it my new profile picture just about everywhere! It was time for an update. My last one was almost 2 years old. (And before you ask, my 11-year-old daughter took it. I KNOW!!)

  1. Your skin looks absolutely gorgeous in your new profile picture. I have used Laura Mercier products in the past and really like them. I use a BB cream on my face in the winter, but I might have to give this tinted moisturizer a try for summer. Have a great day!

  2. Your daughter needs to come give my daughter camera lessons. I fired her as my photographer. 😉

    Beautiful picture.

I’m going to try this for summer. This winter I began using the Laura Mercier liquid foundation and I like it quite a bit. I have extremely dry skin and it doesn’t dry me out further. It also doesn’t feel super heavy and I like that. I’m not a fan of most foundations. Thanks for the review.

  3. I used to wear the original Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer all the time and really enjoyed it. I never realized they have an “Illuminating” version. I might have to check that out next time I’m at Sephora! Your skin looks fabulous and I love your new profile picture, too. 🙂

    xo Always, Abby

  4. You are beautiful. I love the jane iredale base…have you tried IT bb cream, feels amazing. Sometimes I,use the jane iredale over for a bit more coverage. But the IT bb cream is amazing with a slight citrus scent that is yummy. So many ingredients to impove skin. I have tried so so many. I’m 45 and love to take care of my skin!

  5. I’ve heard others mention this illuminating tinted moisturizer and I’m intrigued.
Does it have much in the way of coverage, or super sheer with a little sparkle added to it?

    1. Hi Kathy. I haven’t used it in a few years, but I recall that it was more like it just gave you a glow – not so much sparkle. The coverage is okay, but not like a foundation. hope that helps!
