Last Chance: #NSale Styles Still In Stock

Greetings, friends! Can you believe the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends tomorrow? I’m not mad about it. I feel like it’s been going on FOR-EV-ER, but before it ends, I’ve got one more roundup of #NSale styles that are still in stock in case you want to take advantage of the sale prices before they go back up on Monday.

Before we get going, I want to update you on my hunt for slide loafers yesterday. I went right to the store because I wanted to try them on in person, and I’m glad I did because I learned a few things about this style of shoe and discovered a pair I probably would have overlooked on the website.

The sales associate helping me said that he gets tons of requests for this style of shoe, but he kind of hates them because they’re really hard to fit, and he was right. He brought me the Halogen pair and the BP. pair that I included in yesterday’s post, and sure enough, I couldn’t keep them on my feet. I just walked right out of them.

So then he told me that the only pair he carries that really work for narrow feet are the AGLs. I’ve never heard of AGL but of course I asked to see them. He brought them out and I slipped them on, OH MY WORD. It was like putting my feet into slippers. Not only are they gorgeous and comfortable, but I can definitely walk in these. In fact, they felt so good, I didn’t want to take them off.

As I remarked on the incredible comfort and the gorgeous leather, he casually mentioned, Oh, yes, these are hand stitched in Italy.

By that point I was wising up. The quality was evident, and if they are hand-stitched in Italy, there is no way these babies are under $100.

I asked suspiciously, So… how much do these run?

Turns out they’re close to $350.

Womp… womp…

This is pretty much the story of my life. Leave me in a shoe store for 20 minutes and I will fall in love with the most expensive pair on the rack. (Actually, these aren’t even the most expensive pair… Gucci has a pair of loafer mules that cost twice as much so I guess that’s perspective.)

So here’s the thing about these shoes. I’m really warming up to the style, and I value a good pair of shoes, but I will only spend that much on a pair of shoes I absolutely adore and know I’m going to wear A LOT and for a long time.

I’m not quite there yet with this style, but if anything, this pair is making me like the trend even more. Typically I wear a lot of ballet flats in the fall, but that can be a very sweet look. There is something about these slide loafers that strikes me as modern and city chic, and I like that. I can see them with my favorite ankle jeans and a chunky sweater or cardigan… maybe with a blazer or top coat… someone stop me now. Haha!

Before I make up my mind, I’d like to try a few more styles and see if there’s anything else out there that works for narrow feet that’s a little more budget-friendly. And I really had a more minimalistic style in mind, as opposed to the penny loafer style. I actually just ordered this pair to try after seeing them on another blog. The reviews look good, so we’ll see!

Alright, well that was quite a prologue. Let’s get to the meat of the post.

#NSale Styles Still In Stock

I tried to pick things that were stocked in the majority of sizes, but styles are moving fast so if they’re gone by the time you get to reading this post, don’t shoot the messenger. And I promise, this is the last you will have to hear about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale until July of 2018!

  1. I had the same trouble with the BP mules, they would not stay on my feet. Looking forward to hearing more about your quest for the perfect mule :). I am on the fence about trying this trend lol!

I give two thumbs up on the Gibson tie front fleece top, so comfy and cozy. I bought two!

I discovered Kut from the Kloth has petite jeans, so I am going to place one last order to get the wine colored jeans and hope they fit!

Happy Anniversary to you and Paul!

  2. I love a good pair of loafers and think mules are cute–but my issue with shoes without a back is that they are hard to walk in for very long. My toes end up so tired trying to stay in the shoes! I have to walk and be on my feet quite a bit for my job, so this is a trend that I will probably pass on. Loafers, flats, boots, & sandals for me! Unless, of course, I find a pair that stays on–ha,ha! #ILoveShoes

  3. Happy Anniversary! Hope you guys have a great time today!
I’m actually thinking about buying those VC Francia booties and returning the Hinge pair. As much as I adore the Hinges, I’m realizing they are not flattering at all on my shorter legs! I’m thinking the lower front shaft on the VCs will be more flattering. I hope.

  4. I love the color of those penny loafers ( I am definitely liking the metallic shoe trend) and now have the Cole Hann ballet flats in pewter in my cart. But, glad you passed on those because I see those more on the “preppy side” and worn with classic items like, pencil skirts and slim taylored looking pants and blazers but not with trendy jeans. I could be wrong but don’t see you getting too much wear from that exact pair. Keep looking for a more casual mule.
Happy Anniversary and can’t wait t see your date night outfit ????

  5. Once you purchase a pair of AGL’s there is no going back. I bought my first pair about 6 years ago (cap toe flats). They are still beautiful and comfortable. I now own 4 pair of this brand and I wear them all the time. There is no break in period where they feel uncomfortable. It seems like a lot of money, but the value, fit and feel is amazing. I save up to buy them because they never hurt my feet, they look good and hold up to heavy wear – even on my wide feet.

  6. I am really liking these mules on you…..I think I am almost on the bandwagon but need a more budget friendly pair before I take the plunge!! I hope you find them:)

  7. Great post! I’m like you … love the Nordstrom sale but kind of ready for it to be over …. I guess. LOL.

Happy Anniversary! I hope you both have a wonderful evening.

  8. Happy anniversary, Jo-Lynne!

I’m ready for the sale to be over so I can stop dropping things in my cart, lol. I ordered a lot, but returned a good portion and have a few items I’m still on the fence with. Has anyone found the new way to make returns by mail to be a pain? You can’t start a return until after the window of delivery. So if the item arrives 4 days, early, you have to hang onto it until the window passes before beginning the return process.

    1. I haven’t even noticed that. I probably procrastinate longer than some. I really like the new system because it’s easier to find what I’m looking for with the pictures, but then again, I’m sure I order way more than the average Joe. (Or Jo.) BWAHAHA!

      1. I agree, the photos are nice. I think I was trying to ship things out quickly because I had more on the way! I now have a RETURN box, a DEFINITELY KEEPING box and a I REALLY WANT TO KEEP THESE BUT SHOULDN’T box. ????

  9. I have narrow feet also and love the Louise ER Cie penny loafer mules I received in a Trunk last year. I never would have picked them on my own. I don’t see the exact style on the Nordstrom website any longer. I’m not crazy about the Louise styles they have at the moment but sometimes it takes trying them on! I am due for a trip to Cherry Hill or KoP. Lol. I need a metallic pair!
As I side note, I snagged that Hinge tie sleeve blouse you posted. It’s so stinking cute ! Thanks for the heads up!

  10. I just ordered the Louise et Cie twist mule and have high hopes. I had a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Gucci look alikes last year, but within a few wearings, the inside lining came out so I returned them. I’m not in love with the style yet but want to give it another try. Thanks for your excellent NSale coverage and Happy Anniversary !

  11. Happy Anniversary! Hope you and your husband enjoy your special date night! Those celebrations seem to be even more important as the kids grow up I think.

I haven’t jumped on the current mule trend yet because I don’t have great memories of when I wore them in the 90s. They always seemed to slide off my feet and were never very comfortable for long days.

That said, I really like the look of the Marc Fischer pair you ordered from Nsale. I’m tempted to buy them while they’re on sale. They look more simple and possibly comfortable too.

    Thanks for another great post!

  12. I had the same exact issue with the Halogen and BP slides. AGL does make a beautiful and comfortable shoe. I’ve had good luck finding them at Nordstromrack.

  13. I’m glad mules are now “in style.” I never stopped wearing them. I love the slip-on ease. Mules are good dress shoes for people who would rather be wearing sandals.

My favorite brand of mules is Clarks. Their mules hug the foot, and don’t slip off.

Happy Anniversary to you and your DH!

  14. Happy anniversary! How do you think the Vance Camuto sleeveless sweater would look with a short sleeve or three-quarter length sleeve underneath ? It rarely gets cold enough here to put a long sleeve shirt under a sweater like that , but I love the pink version and I’m considering it .

  15. I had never heard of AGL either but went to Nordstrom earlier this year to buy a pair of heels. The salesman brought out a pair of black suede heels with beautiful stitching design. I put them on and swear they were made for my feet. They were so comfortable. I would have never paid over $300 for a pair of heels but comfort has become more important to me. Plus, they are classic and I take pretty good care of my shoes so they will last forever. Best thing was that my husband agreed!
