Instagram Roundup

Good morning! I’m getting this post up early so we can go take some outfit pictures. I’m dreading it because it is soooo cold. Fortunately it’s going to warm up a little bit this afternoon. It’s supposed to get into the 40s, which will be a welcome reprieve from the low 30s of the last few days.

My husband and I have our Valentine’s Day dinner date tonight, and I have no idea what I’ll wear, but I’m probably going to feel like bundling up in something cozy. Last year it was super cold like this too, and I wore over-the-knee boots and a chunky sweater. I’m thinking that sounds like a pretty good idea for tonight.

So today I thought I’d share an Instagram Roundup. If you’re on Instagram, you can follow me HERE to see what I’m wearing and for sneak peeks of looks to come on the blog.

I wore this first outfit to church a couple weeks ago. It was cold a cold day, and I wanted to be cozy. Yesterday, there was ONE taupe bag left, but it’s already gone. I also like this one a lot, and my sweater is on sale for $52 at Macy’s. More details in THIS POST.

I already shared this cute graphic sweatshirt when I took you shopping with me (haha!) but I also posted it to Instagram. I am kicking myself for not ordering the medium while it was in stock. It’s on sale for $34, and it’s super duper soft. It does run small, though. I’m wearing a size small in this picture, and I would want a medium to be comfortable in it. It would be really cute with white distressed jeans and Converse for spring.

Details on this outfit are in THIS POST. This grey collarless military jacket is the cutest. I can’t wait till it’s warm enough to wear it. Shop with my code to receive $20 off your order at Lucky Brand!

I still can’t get over what a steal this contrast cuff sweater is, and that it is still in stock is amazing! It’s on sale for $29 and available in a few other colors as well. Some are solids, if you are adverse to wearing stripes. They still have the contrast cuff detail that is so cute. More details in THIS POST.

Once again, I’m sorry this cardigan sold out in the pink before I posted about it. I’d love to hear from anyone who ordered the Free People one that is similar. Is it totally oversized, or is it cute on? More details on this outfit in THIS POST.

This was a casual day at home when the weather was milder. These skimmer jeans are on sale for $49, and they will be great to have this spring. The sweater is a nice basic at $39, but I don’t like how quickly it started to pill. I ordered the sweater stone, which works pretty well on pilling sweaters.

navy pullover (great basic for $39) // skimmer jeans ($49) // similar burgundy suede ballet flats // Dalton pendant

This is such a great top for Valentine’s Day! More details about this outfit are in THIS POST.

bell sleeve top // similar black pants (or jeans) // Lucky Brand heels // shoulder bag // gold pendant

I wore this to hang out with friends over sushi one night. I’m so bummed my black satchel has sold out at R Minkoff because it was marked down. Now it’s only on Amazon for full price.

v-neck sweater // grey jeans // similar black flats // rebecca minkoff mini perry satchel // beaded hoop earrings

I was going to wear this to run some errands after our photo shoot (details in THIS POST) but it was so cold, I ended up changing into a warmer sweater that I could wear a coat over. That was after I spent 10 minutes trying to get this selfie just right, so I posted it anyway. LOL! #hatetowasteaselfie

down vest // striped turtleneck // Frame black skinnies (similar for less HERE) // Adidas Superstars (also at Zappo’s) // Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM // Dalton initial pendant // faux pearl earrings // Ray-Ban aviators

This was my PSA to clean your makeup brushes. I love this Sigma brush cleaning mat. I just use Dawn dishwashing liquid.

This was a casual day at home after an early morning photo shoot (thus the curled hair!) I rarely wear leggings, but I wasn’t going anywhere and I just wanted to be cozy..

draped cardigan (LOVE!) // similar tee here and here // favorite leggings // UGG classic cardy // triple rings necklace c/o Hallmark

I’ve been wearing this necklace almost daily since I got it. It’s such a nice, understated piece, and it goes well with all of my v-neck tops.

I believe this was last Saturday. I can’t get enough of this cozy sweater. My pointy toe flats are sold out, but this pink garnet color is available and on sale for $69 in the super comfy Sam Edelman Felicia Flats.

Snow day! I had to take my son to the dermatologist, so I bundled up in cashmere and Sorel. Every nurse and doctor in the office at different times mentioned my boots. LOL!

v-neck sweater (I got mine 60% off, but it sold out; new colors are here but full price) // AG legging jeans (similar for less) // similar Sorel snow boots // cashmere infinity scarf // link bracelet // triple hoop earrings // Tiffany & Co. eyeglasses c/o LensCrafters

Details on this outfit are in THIS POST.

plaid popover // dark wash skinnies (on sale at Zappo’s) // pink garnet suede pumps (ON SALE!) // studded crossbody // triad hoops // wishing necklace // celestial choker

And this is what I wore yesterday. It was freezing, and I wanted to be warm, so I broke out a turtleneck. You know it’s cold when I wear a turtleneck! I like this one because it is looser than most, and it has a nice shape through the body of the sweater. There are also some pretty ribbed details in the knit, but it is long gone. It sold out before Christmas, I believe. These jeans are Paige Verdugo from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last summer, but they have a similar pair on the Paige website.

And that’s a wrap! I’m off to shoot a new outfit of two for this week.

Do you have any fun weekend plans?

  1. Your honesty is so refreshing and helpful when it comes to deciding what to buy and what to wear. I am thrilled that I discovered your blog. It has given me such inspiration and increased confidence. Thank you!

  2. I have to take my son to the dermatologist also. What has really helped him is NO cheese and limiting milk to 1%. As soon as he eats cheese he breaks out, they (Derm) said it’s the casein. She said to avoid and see what happened and there is a direct correlation with his acne!! You can have him cut cheese out for a week or two and see if it helps.

PS- I never wore vests until I saw your blog and insta. My husband said, “you hate vests” and I said, ” No, JoLynne wears vests and they look nice!” He looked at me like JoLynne who?!? It was SO funny.

    1. Same here with my son. In addition to limiting dairy, we try to limit sugar, and he uses Apple cider vinegar as a toner after washing his face. He is also taking acidophilus and zinc daily. We aren’t sure which one is doing the job, but the combination has done wonders! Before this, the dermatologist had him on a harsh topical cream and antibiotics. What we are doing now has been more effective and is safer.

  3. This post reminds me of a refresher course, which I like. Even though I read the daily posts, I sometimes forget the content in a few days. I’m glad y’all didn’t get more snow last night. We heard on the news that some areas up that way have another storm coming in Monday. No exciting plans this weekend. Since it’s going up in the 70’s today and sunny, I may take Larry down to our lake via the golf cart so he can do a little fishing, just to get him out. Yesterday was a very bad day for him, so hoping today is better.

  4. I really like your Instagram posts. I am still new to Instagram, but you sure show me what I could do, if I just got my act together. Ha, ha. I don’t have a smart phone, so that is a bit limiting. So usually I snap a few pics on my slide phone then send them to my daughter who posts them. I want to do more, because it seems this is a great way to get peeps looking at your stuff and then maybe over to your blog. I love that you round them all up, so that we who don’t get on Instagram as often, can see what you’ve been up too. Cute outfits. I really like the last two and the one with the light pink cardi. Very pretty outfits, JoLynne. Thanks for sharing. – Amy

  5. I really like those Skimmer Jeans in the tobacco shade from White House Black Market. They look to be very versatile in that I could wear them when I want to look at little more dressed up than in jeans. They are added to my list of things to buy. Thanks for showing them. Thanks too for showing these outfits in a post because I’m not on Instagram and I would miss some of them otherwise.

  6. I always love these Instagram roundup posts!!! The basic nay sweater link is linking to the pants. Where can I find the navy sweater?

Today my husband and I are heading out to the Tommy Bahama store to do some shopping for our upcoming Caribbean vacay. Tomorrow night is our Valentines date night. We are going to dinner at our fave restaurant in the city, along with another couple. We are celebrating Valentines Day, my husbands birthday, and our 32nd anniversaries! Enjoy your date night tonight!!!

  7. I’m not on Instagram, either, so I really enjoy seeing your outfits on your blog. I love seeing your daily outfits, you give me lots of inspiration! Enjoy your weekend!

  8. I love the outfit in the last photo, so pretty! hope you enjoy your weekend! we’re having spring like weather so hubby and I will be out enjoying it. 🙂
