How to Style a Red Blazer & Jeans
Hello, friends! Happy Valentine’s Day Eve! I figured this is a perfect day to talk about how to style a red blazer. As y’all know, I don’t wear a lot of blazers, but when I saw this one on the LOFT website, I knew it had to be mine.
I love the sleek collarless style of this blazer, and the back peplum panel is so flattering.
To keep the look a little edgy and to suit my casual lifestyle, I paired the blazer with a t-shirt and jeans. I went ahead and wore my nude pumps to shoot this look, which would be perfect for wearing this outfit to dinner or to a blogging event, but I was thinking it would also be cute with ballet flats for a more casual look.
Of course this blazer would also be perfect for the office or church with a white blouse and pants. In fact, wouldn’t it be adorable with these diamond print skinny pants (on sale for $39.50)? If I’d seen them, I would have ordered them to style with it.
Sale Alert >> LOFT is running 40% off on Cupid’s Favorites, which unfortunately do not include my red blazer. They do, however, include this one as well as their modern skinny jeans in a myriad of gorgeous spring colors. There are some cute dresses included as well. Plus these styles are all on sale, they’re priced as marked.
I’ve been wanting to try the neck scarf trend, so I ordered this floral silk scarf. I didn’t intend to wear it with this jacket, necessarily, but when they came together in the box from LOFT, I decided they were a perfect pairing. I just tied it in a knot, as shown on the LOFT website. I also ordered this scarf. I think they are both so gorgeous. Even just throwing one on with a white tee and jeans will make such a chic outfit. Both scarves are 30% off.
I really love how this outfit came together. My only critique is that I think the t-shirt and the blazer are too close to the same length. From the back, the t-shirt peeks out about an inch and looks perfect, but from the front, they match up a little too closely. Next time, maybe I’ll try loosely front-tucking the tee.
By the way, this tee is the product of my friend Carly. I’ve shared it before, but if you haven’t seen it, she set out to create the perfect white tee (hence the name) and a portion of the proceeds benefit K.Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. I love that the tee is made in the USA, in fact, it is made right here in Pennsylvania. FYI, it does run a bit small; I have the medium and it fits perfectly. I’ve washed and dried it, and it holds up great. Here’s how it looks without the blazer and a casual front-tuck.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Would you wear this outfit? Or how would you alter it to work for you?
