Hello From Disney World!

Who woulda thunk that by coming to Florida, I’d be escaping the hurricane of the decade!? While Sandy barrels towards Philadelphia with record breaking wind speeds and rainfall, we sit here basking in the safety and security of sunny Florida.

We’re having a great time. This has been my first bonafide work-free vacation in as long as I can remember. I  actually powered up my laptime for the first time today, and we arrived on Thursday — that is a major record!!!

Even though this trip is not work-related, I still have several Disney posts planned, reviewing the resort where we are staying as well as sharing some of the lessons I’ve learned after several family vacations to the land of The Mouse. But for now, you can follow my Instagram feed for tons of photos of our adventures as well as my daily outfits. (I am sure many of my local friends are wondering what on EARTH I am doing posting photos of my daily outfits, so I feel the need to clarify that I had several requests for outfit photos, and I am to please, so here ya go!!!)

We are hoping to make it home on Wednesday, but right now that’s pretty much looking like a crapshoot. I suggested extending our stay by at least a day, in an effort to avoid any airport drama that might ensue from all the flights that are bound to be backed up after Sandy moves out of our region, but the rest of the family doesn’t think that’s necessary. I guess only time will tell.

For now, we have a few days left to enjoy Mickey and his fantastical friends and we plan to make the most of it. Here are some of the highlights so far.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
Tinkerbell!
breakfast with Minnie at Cape May Cafe
posing with Goofy at Magic Kingdom
the new Dumbo ride at Magic Kingdom
a birthday surprise from the Disney Social Media Team
my son was pulled up on stage at the Hoop Dee Doo Review

I hope to be back to my regularly scheduled programing on Wednesday. Meanwhile, stay safe and dry!

  1. I know you’re feeling out of the loop with regard to Sandy, but sounds like you had perfect timing. Lovely photos. And thank you for the outfit sharing, too. What a fabulous little day bag that is. What is it?
