Daily Mom Style 03.06.12

I’m doing my best not to start out every post with commentary about the weather. But y’all. Brrrr . . .

So anyway. Let’s get right to it.

day 1

I wore this out to dinner with a friend. The coral cardi is new (from Banana Republic) and I love it. We had a couple of mild days before the weather got frigid again, so I broke out my pumps and bootcut jeans for a change. These neutral pumps are from You By Crocs (I bought them on sale at Amazon last summer.) I tried the sweater both buttoned and unbuttoned and decided to go for “locked and loaded” (thank you, Clinton and Stacey). You can’t seem them, but I wore some jazzy gold earrings with my gold bracelet.

day 2

I wore my striped pullover with green skinny jeans and cognac boots to lunch with friends (yes, I’ve been eating out a lot lately… and it’s taking its toll on my waistline!!) I’d really like to get a chunky gold necklace (like the model is wearing) to go with this sweater, but I settled for this smaller silver one since it’s all I have. I like the contrast of the cognac boots with the green jeans.

day 3

The weather got cold again so I was going for warmth and comfort with this outfit while I spent the day working from home. This red long-sleeve tee lends a nice pop of color under the black drapey sweater, and I wore my favorite skinnies and gray UGGs. Even though I was spending the day at home, I felt like the outfit needed something so I threw on this silver and copper necklace from Studio Jewel. It’s such a versatile piece. It looks just as nice on a little black dress as it does with this casual outfit.

day 4

Another day at home… another drapey sweater… I found this necklace in the back of my jewelry box. I picked it up at Target many moons ago. I was wearing slippers most of the day, but I threw on these black flats for the picture and to run out to pick up cupcakes for my husband’s birthday. (I won’t tell you how old he is, but he’s still older than me, and that’s all that matters!!)

day 5

I had fun putting this outfit together! I picked up this infinity scarf at Nordstrom Rack last week, and I was dying to give it a test drive. The coral tank seemed like a natural choice but I was struggling with what to wear over it when I spotted this denim jacket in the back of my closet. I completed the outfit with the tan cords and the embellished ballet flats, and I was really pleased with the outfit until I stepped outside to take this picture . . .

It was like 25 degrees, so I came back in and put on boots before we went to the mall. (My daughter and I had a girls day out shopping for spring clothes with Target . . . more on that later this week!) So this is how the outfit turned out. I don’t really like how these pants fit in the boots. They aren’t tight enough in the knees so they look baggy, oh well . . .

day 6

Finally, my faithful red cashmere hoodie with skinny jeans and UGGs. I am not even going to apologize for wearing boots all week, and at this rate I might be wearing them right into April.

  1. My favorite is day 5- those colors work great together & look really good on you. You’re right you shouldn’t bother talking about the weather… I tossed my Uggs into the back of my closet & swore not to wear them again this season only to look outside and realize it was flurrying!?! My toes want to be free!!

  2. I like all the looks! The ‘work from home’ looks are way better than my everyday looks lol but I’m in that weird stage of pregnancy when regular clothes don’t fit at all but maternity is still way way too big so yoga pants and t-shirts it is!
I can’t wait to get to Texas for Blissdom so I can wear some skirts and not be so bundled up! I feel you about the weather! Its been snowing for 5 days here in Maine and I’m so sick of it!

  3. Love that new coral cardi AND the nude pumps so much! I’ve been wanting some nude pumps, but I just haven’t found the right ones at the right price. That cardigan is a gorgeous color – great item for this transition time from winter to spring. Don’t forget… in like a lion, Jo-Lynne! There’s a second half to that phrase and it’s usually true as well. But speaking from the heart of Kentucky (where we DO have snow this morning), I better not promise anything to the Philly girl. 😉

  4. Anytime orange is paired with blue, I’m in love with it! There’s just something about that color combination that speaks to me. The denim jacket with the orange tank is great! You look wonderful in all of the outfits!
