Daily Mom Style 02.11.14

It’s slim pickin’s this week, folks. I have dressed in some cute, casual outfits but didn’t manage to get a picture of many of them. They mostly were some variation of this.

casual chic

Usually with leggings rather than jeans, but I actually had to leave the house this afternoon so I wore jeans.

On Friday, we had an impromptu date night. We decided to go out to dinner last weekend, which is a good thing since Valentine’s Day may be a snow day in these here parts. Rumor has it, we have a Nor’easter heading our way.

valentines date night

I went for the red jeans because I figured they were festive. I hunted around for a cute top to go with them and ended up wearing this verrrry old sweater. I think I got it at LOFT like 10 years ago, no lie, I think I’ve had it longer than I’ve lived in this house. The boots were a no brainer because of the cold and the snow. Then I added some gold jewelry and my Brasila Crossbody by Baggallini (it was a sample).

And I wore this outfit to church on Sunday. This time I was looking for warmth and comfort. I wore my fleece lined Double Zipper Biker Skinny Pants (a sample from Goodnight Macaroon) and then I pulled out this teal sweater, quite honestly, because it hides a lot of sins (like eating too many carbs while recipe testing for one’s gluten-free breakfast cookbook, ahem).

how to wear a leopard scarf

I threw on the leopard scarf because, again, I wanted warmth (our church is COLD) and it was the only scarf I had that worked with the outfit. I wouldn’t have thought to put leopard with teal, but I like it. I carried my tobacco-colored handbag, and despite the chill I did go ahead and wear pumps. A girl eventually gets tired of wearing boots every day. I thought the Stella & Dot Sardinia bracelet was a nice color contrast to the teal.

So yeah. It’s getting to that time of year where every outfit is pretty repetitive. But methinks we have a while before spring so I better

  1. My wardrobe so far this week has been jeans and sweatshirts. Well, when I get home from work. I guess I need to dig out the thermals for snow shoveling tomorrow. Yuck.

The leopard print really looks great with teal! Never would have thought of that!

  2. You always have the cutest shoes! That is by far my style weakness … I find myself wearing the same 2-3 pairs and THAT’S IT. Rather pathetic. Must be comfortable though! Any help is appreciated!

  3. You have the best wardrobe! Very cute, casual outfits this week.

Your nose looks like it’s healing up nicely too! 🙂

  4. Okay girlie, you do wear/promote some of the cutest things! However, I must take you to task on your posture in your pictures! Look specifically at the red hot jeans and black top. It says ” Gee, hope you like this…” A taller stance, shoulders back, head lifted would say “You love this, don’t you!?! I know, me too!”
You give such great tips and I do love your site. Thanks for all you do, Happy Valentines Day!!

  5. I love your posts. I am 48 and always trying to look stylish even though I don’t work outside of the home. I notice that you like scarves and so do I. I have been making them lately and would love to send you one. If you are interested, let me know your address so I can get one to you.
