Bundled Up in Pastels

Bundled Up in Pastels: marled silver sweater and a blush scarf with white jeans and grey suede booties

Good morning! Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is off to a good start. I wasn’t going to post another outfit this week, but I noticed this sweater is starting to sell out so I thought I better get this post up. Unfortunately the bag (which is the piece I was especially excited to show you) is already gone. I’ve actually been waiting for it to be restocked to post this but I think it might be gone for good. I did find a similar one to share though.

I actually wore this outfit to church last Sunday, and we had time to take some pictures before heading out. This is the marled silver v-neck sweater from last weekend’s shopping trip and the blush scarf from my January favorites post. I thought they paired nicely.

This sweater is super soft and cozy, and it’s currently 40% off! I’m actually wearing it as I type this post, and I like that it’s heavier than a lot of my other sweaters so it’s nice and warm. It also comes in olive and a pretty champagne color.

I wanted to wear the sweater and scarf with light blue denim because I thought that would make a pleasingly muted color palette, but since I was going to church, I opted for white jeans instead. As it turns out, I think I like this combination better anyway.

These are the best white jeans I’ve found for fitting well and being nice and thick and not see-through. They’re a splurge and rarely go on sale, but they’re well worth it if you wear white jeans a lot. You can also check out your local Nordstrom Rack — they seem to carry a lot of Paige jeans, although there are no white ones on their website at the moment.

I recommend sizing up in these. Paige tends to run small, and white jeans are less forgiving than other colors, so I wanted to be sure they weren’t too snug. I usually wear a 29 in Paige jeans, and these are a size 30.

I am really bummed to tell you this bag is out of stock. I ordered it because I wanted to show you a great bag at a budget-friendly price point, and I think this taupe is perfect for pairing with muted colors like the ones in this outfit. They have a waitlist you can sign up for, and they’ll email you when it’s back in stock, but I got an email this morning that it was back in stock, and it’s already gone again, so I wouldn’t hold my breath, lol.

It also comes in a great oxblood color that IS in stock. I also like this camel satchel with the braided handle. It’s about the same size as mine, just two inches taller.

This bag holds a lot, and it’s really comfortable to carry. It also comes with a shoulder strap, but I removed it because I felt like it got in my way. I usually carry my satchels in my hand or over my arm. I would think the Giada is the same.

I finished off the look with the grey suede booties from Trunk Club. I’ve found myself wearing these more than I thought I would. They’re super comfortable, and they have such pretty details. In my perfect world, the booties would be a tad lighter in the grey spectrum to keep the entire outfit muted, but they provide an anchor to the outfit so I think they work.

  1. Very nice outfit Jo-Lynne! It’s cold here as well, but sunny. It will get up in the 50’s today. Next week we’ll be on a temp roller coaster, seeing highs in the 70’s one day.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. I really like this with the white jean—ok, ok, I know I’m biased since we just styled white jeans on the blog for the 3 of us! But it’s such a softer look and really is crisp!!
I’ve also experimented with what shoes with them and I like the darker booties—for some reason, it seems to ground the look so well!

ps…I was thinking about you this morning, because we’re going out to take photos and it’s windy as all get out—ugh!!

  3. I just looked up that bag and it shows that it’s in stock–so maybe people will get lucky. As always, I love your posts! Come visit San Diego, and thaw out, it’s been in the 70s all week. ????

  4. Pretty outfit! Fyi, they have restocked the zella into balance jacket in all sizes except medium. I ordered a small in hopes it won’t be too small so I am thankful for Nordstrom return policy if it doesn’t fit. Since I usually wear the same sizes as you, I am not sure how it will fit. Most likely to bbc.co wear it with short sleeves so that should help with the fit hopefully!
