Because Leopard Is The New Black

Leopard print is always a classic, but it seems to be getting more and more popular with every passing year. I love wearing leopard shoes all year long, but I particularly love them for jazzing up my fall and winter outfits.

Nordstrom has a great selection of leopard shoes and booties right now, including two of my favorite pairs of Sam Edelmans — leopard pumps and leopard flats. I also have my eye on these leopard booties… and these leopard mules… Can a girl have too much leopard? I think not.

Today I’m styling a fall/winter outfit that goes perfectly with any of the above, depending on how dressed-up you want to be.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, these Sam Edelman Felicia Flats are like wearing slippers. I often slip them on when I know I’m just going to be at home all day, but of course they’re also great for when I’ll be out and about, especially if I’ll be doing a lot of walking.

I paired them with black jeans and this cozy mockneck sweater in a pretty fall color they call brown cattail.

This sweater is slightly longer in the back than the front, which seems to be the trend du jour when it comes to pullover sweaters. Most of the sweaters I’ve ordered recently are cut this way.

I like it because you can get the balance of a shorter length in front, but the longer length in the back gives you some extra coverage when you sit or bend over. I’m also liking a higher rise jean these days. It works better with the shorter tops that are in style.

This is the kind of outfit I live in when the weather cools down. This sweater is really soft and cozy, and it’s under $50. It also comes in black, burgundy, and a light grey heather that is really pretty. It runs true to size, but if you’re in between, I’d recommend sizing down.

I think this is pretty much the perfect casual Thanksgiving Day outfit.

While I love my flats, there are some occasions that call for a great pair of pumps. I would be more likely to wear this outfit with the pumps for Thanksgiving Day because that’s my favorite way to dress up my jeans-and-sweater outfits for the holidays. It’s amazing how much a simple switch like swapping out flats for pumps can elevate an outfit.

These pumps are actually quite comfortable to walk in, and they make a fabulous fashion statement. I’m fine wearing them for a few hours, but if I were going to be out all day, I’d bring the flats to change into later on.

I also think leopard booties would be great with this outfit, and loafers would certainly work too. I’ve linked up a bunch of options below. Remember that returns are free at Nordstrom, so you can order a few styles or sizes and easily return the ones that don’t work out.
