How to Accessorize a LBD for Summer #FashionFriday

A little black dress is one of the most versatile pieces you can have in your wardrobe. Every lady has one, or she should. Black can feel a bit heavy in the summertime, but styling a LBD for summer is fun and easier than you might think. HINT: It’s all about the accessories. Sometimes I like to style a LBD for summer with metallics. Pastels are always a good option, or a bright color palette is fun too.

My husband and I went out to dinner last night to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and I wore this simple black dress. I had just treated myself to a mani/pedi (thank you, Mom, for giving me a spa G.C. for my birthday last month!!) and I painted my nails a bright orangey-red, so I decided to go with accessories in those tones and my new leopard wedge sandals. I love leopard with orange or red. It creates such a great contrast.

  2. You look amazing! Congratulations on your 20th Wedding Anniversary! May God bless your union with many more.

  3. That dress fits you beautifully, looks like it was made for you showing off your slim legs & arms. While I’m commenting, ages ago I asked you about the Gilmore Girls suitability for my 11yo daughter & I was grateful for your advice which I duly took but when I tried to reply back a ‘thanks’ my computer wasn’t having any of it – so thanks for taking the time to reply????

    1. Aw, you’re welcome. Did you decide to watch it at all or no? I really loved it, but by the end, I wasn’t letting my girls watch with me. I thought it got too mature.

      1. I haven’t yet, not on Netflix here in Ireland so would have to invest in a dvd box set so it keeps getting pushed down the list of priorities when it comes to spending money! Daughter will prob be old enough to watch it by the time I get my hands on it!

  4. Shockingly enough, I don’t actually own a little black dress because I prefer a certain waistline that seems to pop in and out of season. I’m probably going to have to make one myself! Love the accessories. Very “in” right now!
