5 Under $50

Hello, friends! Happy Monday! It’s been a wild few weeks for me, and I’m so glad to finally be at home for a while.

I wasn’t able to get a Coffee Talk post up yesterday because the Wifi on the plane was kind of spotty, but suffice it to say, I had a great weekend. It was overwhelming at times, and sometimes I was wondering what on earth I’m doing with that crowd, but I found my tribe, so to speak. I was able to spend a lot of time with Cyndi, and I also got to know Caryl and Lindsey a lot better, which was awesome. (Also, if you’re wondering more about what the conference was about and what goes on there, Caryl has a very comprehensive post on her blog today explaining it all.)

It’s funny, when I go to this event (I went last year as well), it feels almost like I’m starting over. I’ve been blogging for 11 years, which makes me sort of a dinosaur in this space. In the mom blogging community, I feel like I know everyone, and they know me. But in the fashion blogging community, I only know a handful of people, and no one knows who I am. It’s daunting at times, but I know from experience that every time you show up, you meet more people, and over time, it gets easier and more fun.

It was also nice to connect with some of the sponsoring brands as well as the rewardStyle team. I’m glad I went, but I definitely need some time to decompress and process it all.

So moving on . . .

5 Under $50 - 5 fashionable items that are perfect for wearing right now, all priced under $50

5 Under $50

Today I’ve got a 5 under $50 post because I know y’all like these, and they’re easy for me to put together. I need easy today!

halogen cold shoulder tee

Cold Shoulder Tee $39 // This top came in my last Trunk Club. At first glance, it looks like a basic cold shoulder tee, but it’s actually made of a modal material so it looks a little dressier than your typical t-shirt. It’s one of those tops you can dress up or down, and for $39, you might as well get two! It fits nicely, but it’s a little long so I front-tuck it. It currently comes in four color options. For size reference, I have the medium.

Stella & Dot ALL IN POUCH - GOOD VIBES

Good Vibes Clutch $36 // I brought this with me to the rewardStyle conference, and I got so many compliments on it. It’s a fun, whimsical addition to so many casual outfits.

BP. Decker Lace-Up Sandals

Lace-Up Sandals $49 // These caught my eye because they remind me of my Lucky Brand Tafia Heels, which are considerably more expensive (although on sale at Zappo’s, I just discovered!) The comfort and quality of the Lucky Brand heels are worthy of the price, but if you don’t think you’ll get a lot of wear out of them and you want a less expensive option, the BP. Decker Lace-Up Sandals are a nice faux leather option for $49.

White House Black Market Skimmer Jeans

Skimmer Jeans $34 // I wore these with a navy linen tee and a denim jacket and ballet flats to a college visit with my 17-year-old a few weeks ago. They have the look of khaki pants with the fit of skinny jeans. Even my husband noticed them and told me he liked them. (He rarely remarks on my clothing unless he thinks it looks weird, lol.) They were originally $89, and they’re marked down to $34.99. Sizes are selling out, but they’re a nice deal if you can snag a pair in your size. I have the 6, for reference. They also have them in army green, but not on sale.

Lucky Brand Druzy Layer Necklace

Druzy Layer Necklace $49 // You’ll be seeing this in an upcoming post with Lucky Brand, but I thought it would be a good piece to include in this 5 Under $50 roundup. It’s such a pretty piece that will go with so many things.

  1. I bought the pants from WHBM when you posted about them being on sale recently. They are an extra 30% off which makes them a GREAT deal.

  2. You looked great all weekend long! I imagine that would be an intimidating setting. So wonderful you and Cyndi have such a sweet friendship and are adding to your “tribe” Hapoy Monday!!!

  3. From your description of how you felt at the conference, it sounds like you’re a bit of an introvert. I think that’s just one of the things we love about you!

  4. Your trip sounded great. You looked great and I just saw a lot of pictures on Cyndi’s post this morning. Sounds like you 2 are buddies. 🙂 Thanks for today’s post. I LOVE the 3 tier necklace. So pretty and neutral for lots of outfits.

  5. You looked so pulled together in all the pics from the conference events!
I know you have to be glad to be home–I traveled for almost 15 years for my job and am SO thankful to be a very early “retiree”. Travel AIN’t glamorous!!

Appreciate all your great ideas here!!

    1. LOL, there are times when I really like it and times when I really hate it. 🙂 The worst part for me is, I just don’t have time to get my work done when I’m out gallivanting about! 🙂

  6. I have a question: Would you consider doing a post on gift ideas for the graduates in our lives? I am in need of gift ideas in all price ranges. What do you buy for a girl who is 18 and very fashionable? (Her mom is contemplating the LV Neverfull bag for her.)

  7. Hi! A few weeks ago you featured an eternity necklace consisting of a gold circle connected to a silver circle. I can’t remember where you bought it but I need one for Mother’s Day. Could you share your link again? TIA

  8. Loved, loved, loved getting to know you too this weekend! I’m kind of going through withdrawals, but it’s nice to stalk your Insta-stories! No wonder why your daughter missed you so much!! 🙂 Also – these picks are right up my alley! I might need that cold shoulder top!!
