25 Days of Winter Fashion Recap

Well, we did it! 25 winter outfits down, and another seasonal style challenge is in the books! It doesn’t matter how many of these I do, I’m always amazed at the end that I actually pulled it off.

25 Days of Winter Fashion with Jo-Lynne Shane & Cyndi Spivey: 25 WINTER OUTFITS for your style inspiration! Wearable, everyday style for women over 40!

Working with Alison definitely made it easier this time. I like it when Paul takes my pictures, but he has a demanding full-time job plus responsibilities at our church and his own side hustle, so I’m glad I’ve found someone I can work with from time to time to give him a break. Plus we’ve learned a lot from working with her, which has made our pictures better, I hope!

I usually do an outfit recap at the end of these style challenges, and a lot of you said you like them so here we are!

HINT: This is a good post to pin to Pinterest, if you use it. These types of posts do well over there, and I’m always grateful for the share.

So that’s a wrap! I think 20, 21, and 25 are my favorites. Oh, and I really like #3. I think #10 is my favorite holiday look. How about you?

I’m wide open to ideas for posts now and in the new year. I definitely plan to do some more of the 3 or 4 ways posts, where I style an item a bunch of different ways, to help us all stretch our closets as we survive the rest of the winter. I’m also going to try to do more beauty content, although it’s not my strong suit. Those posts always seem to be popular, though, and they give me the nudge to try new things.

Winter always seems really long after the holidays are over, but we’ll make the best of it.

Meanwhile, Christmas is coming! Let earth receive her King!

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

  1. Bravo! Well done and thank you for posting some great outfit inspirations for us. My favorites are 20 and 25.  You look amazing in #20 because it all fits you so well and the color combinations give the outfit a luxurious casual look, if that makes sense. And #25 because you took some basic items that most of us have and added an affordable pop of color with the scarf. There are so many good ones but I tend to like what works in the Texas climate and didn’t have many holiday parties to go to this year, but really enjoyed seeing those fun holiday outfits too.
I’m sure your ready to relax and enjoy your holidays. Looking forward to your 2018 posts! Have a blessed holiday.

  2. My favorites are 9, 18, and 25.  I noticed there’s a common denominator between the first two – your boots.  I would live to find a pair like that with arch support.
With the big box stores being 40+ minutes away from us, it’s not easy for me to receive a makeup consultation.  And unless things have really changed, I know that the ladies working, for say Clinique, have not had special training, and they are going to push their particular brand, even when many of the less expensive brands are manufactured at the same plant.  It has been 10+ years since I’ve had my makeup done by someone.  Not being able to use any makeup or remover on my eyes adds another twist.  I feel like I need to make changes, but I don’t know who to go too!
We are expecting severe weather (thunder, heavy winds, possibly a tornado) later today.  Good stay inside, make a chocolate pie, and finish getting ready for our families arrival mid day tomorrow, kind of day.

  3. I love #8! I wish I had something to wear that to because it is so cute. I also like #20 as it is so flattering and practical. I’m older and bigger than you, but with basically the same shape, so I find your posts so helpful in seeing how things look and fit. Enjoy your week at your parents!

  4. It’s so nice to see a recap. I’m going to post to Pinterest in a minute. Oh, it is so hard to pick a favourite. I’d have to go with #5 as it looks so smart. I love the soft blue with the camel. #10 – a great dressy look that we can wear to any festive event. I’ll always pick pants over a dress, if I have the option. #20 – it has all the ingredients to look chic but still comfy.
I love the 3 -4 way posts. It gives me new ideas for that one central piece.
You must be terribly busy with work, kids and getting ready to travel. Have a safe trip home. Merry Christmas to you & yours!

  5. Thank you for this post!  I like so many of them, but I think 11, 15 and 20 are my favorites.  Looking forward to the 3 or 4 ways posts.  I definitely the help to stretch my closet to last the rest of the winter!

  6. Love all your looks!

A few things I’d be interested in asking you:

Do you have a favorite fragrance?
What is your favorite skin care line that has shown results?

Thank you so much for all you put into your blog and all the information you bring us!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  7. My absolute favorite was #5 but I also loved #20 and #25.
Look #10 was my favorite holiday look.
Hoping to watch the Facebook Live, but if something unexpected happens in my normally predictable day I wanted to ask about jeans with rhinestone or sequin stuff on the back pockets….I was given a pair and I am not really sure if I should be wearing such a thing. The jeans are cute and fit super well but fit only goes so far….I don’t want to look silly or inappropriate even if the jeans make my butt look good lol????

  8. **Clap, clap, clap**
Most excellent series and I thank you so much. Getting dressed (even in a hurry) is getting soooo much easier after following you the last year and a half. Can’t tell you enough how grateful I am.
Happy holidays to you and the family!

  9. Thank you for consolidating all 25 Days. My favs are 20 (those boots are amazing!) and 21 (love that motto jacket!) and of course 10 is the perfect holiday outfit! You’ve given me some great ideas this winter. Thank you!
Wishing you and your family safe travels and happy holidays filled with family, laughs, and love.

  10. I love when you do your recap in this format!  Perfect for Pinterest!  You’ve put together so many great styles, it makes it hard to decide which are my fav’s, but 14 & 24 stand out for me. One thing that has become clear for me as I try to replicate some of your looks – I have to be careful of solid tops!  They need to have a fuller midsection to disguise some ah-hem – imperfections.  I’ve found a brand at Macys that seems to fit the bill & it comes in several colors, great for a color hoarder like myself!  I have a black & taupe leather jacket, as well as a raspberry corded jacket that you gave me more styling ideas for!  Bottom line, one great fashion recap!  Safe travels as you head south & have a wonderful Christmas.

  11. Hi Jo-Lynne, congratulations on another well done series! My favorites are #5 and 16 as the leopard print clutch looks incredible as well as unexpected. I would never have thought to use leopard print with light blue and teal but you have demonstrated how beautiful it looks. I also liked anything burgundy that you wore because that color really looks good on you. Enjoy the holidays!

  12. I love your posts and look forward to them!  I have put together so many outfits based upon your fashion ideas! I’m so disappointed that many of the items you modeled in your 25 Days of Winter were not available..????.
