These days it seems like stores are always running some kind of sale. This is one reason why I tend to shop at the same few stores. I get to know their patterns and I know when to wait and when to purchase.
But who has time to be checking back all the time for when the next markdown happens?? Certainly not this girl!! As a result, I often buy a piece of clothing only to find out it has dropped in price a week later.
Would you believe, there are times I have actually ordered the product AGAIN at the new low price and return it using the original receipt. I KNOW. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
So when the folks from Scoutfit reached out, I was intrigued.
Scoutfit is an online shopping sidekick that helps you ‘scout’ products online, creating your own ‘closet’ consisting of your favorite items, and then it notifies you when they drop in price.
I wasted no time signing up. Even before I agreed to partner with them to get the word out, I was scouting and creating closets.
You can choose from a selection of stores they partner with, and then your home page on Scoutfit will show you an assortment of products from each of those retailers that other Scouters have been loving lately. I enjoy browsing those and getting new ideas.
But what I find myself doing most often is using the little Scout It bookmarklet that I placed in my bookmark bar.
When I see a product I want on a website, but I’m not ready to pull the trigger, to add it to one of my ‘closets’. That way they will email me when the price is reduced!
Here is a screenshot of my closets. In fact, this is the entire screen for that page.
What I really like about Scoutfit is how simple it is to use. I have reviewed other cool shopping sites before that I truly like, but I find them complicated to navigate. This one is so simple. The Discover tab shows you what your favorite stores have on sale and what other Scouters are saving to their closets. The Closet tab is your closets. And then the +Add Button just adds the bookmarklet to your toolbar.
Here is a link to my Daily Mom Style closet — I am using this to save the popular items that I have and wear regularly so I can alert YOU when they go on sale.
And then my Wish List closet is exactly that — products I would buy if they came down to my desired price.
This is going to be a FABULOUS tool here in the next few days as Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales start up everywhere. Who needs to shop on Thanksgiving when you have the internet and Scoutfit!???
Are you holiday shopping?? You can make your closets private if you want, so if you want to create one for your Christmas Shopping, no one will see what you’re going to get them!
Just today I got this email in my inbox. How easy is THAT?!
Definitely “LIKE” Scoutfit on Facebook because they post a ton of great deals and sales going on around the web.
