Testing the Tria Age Defying Laser, Month #2

Tria Review

Last month, I shared that I’m taking part in a three-month campaign where I’m testing out the Tria Age-Defying Laser so I can share it with you! I want you to know up front that I am being compensated for my time in testing out this product, but I will be candid about my experience.

It’s now been two months that I’ve been using theTria Age-Defying Laser. At first, it was hard to remember to do it every night, and it took some time to adjust to the sensation during treatment. After two months, I am on Level 3, and it’s now a familiar part of my evening routine.

You may remember, there are three levels. I started with Training Level 1 and moved to Treatment Level 2 after I adjusted to the sensation, after about a week. The idea is to increase the intensity over time so your skin adjusts slowly. Take a look at this graphic, depicting how it works.

The stinging sensation is there, but it doesn’t bother me at all. And I have started to notice my skin tone evening out a bit. I think it’s hard when you see your own skin every day to really tell if you’re seeing results or not, but my husband even mentioned this weekend that he thought it’s working. WOOT!!

The hardest part is sticking with it for the entire 10 minutes. I am one to rush through my evening beauty routine (and my morning one, for that matter!!) I’m always tempted to shut it off early, thinking that I’ve done it long enough. Fortunately it beeps to let me know when it’s time to move it to another quadrant of the face, so that keeps me honest.

I keep telling myself it’s a lot less of a time commitment than driving to a spa and having an hour-long treatment.

I’ve started taking it into my bedroom and using it while I surf Facebook on my iPad. It’s a bit of a juggling act, but at least I have something to occupy my mind while I’m performing the treatment!

I’m also enjoying the skincare products that come along with it. The Age-Defying Skincare Priming Cleanser feels gentle and moisturizing, and the Age-Defying Skincare Finishing Serum soothes my skin and helps reduce the redness that the laser produces.

From what I’ve read, this is about the time you really start to notice a difference so I’m excited to see how my skin improves over the next few weeks. Stay tuned for before/after photos AND a video showing you exactly how the Tria Age-Defying Laser works.

disclosure: I am being compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all experiences and opinions are my own.

It sounds amazing (although I think you already have amazing skin!). Can’t wait to follow you through the process and learn more!

I was thinking the same as Trish, that you already have amazing skin, but it is neat to see products that can erase some of the signs of our aging. I will definitely be keeping this in mind. Now if it only could erase the dark circles under my eyes!

It sounds like something I could do while watch Netflix, though dh would use it as an opportunity to make fun of me. :)

As I creep closer to 50, I find myself thinking more about aging well. I really need to get into better habits with taking care of my skin.

You DO already have beautiful skin, but that will make it all the more impressive if there’s a noticeable difference in the before/after pictures. :) I feel like I might be too much of a wimp for the stinging sensation, but I guess I’d probably adjust!

I have that SAME forehead wrinkle!!! It might be diminishing a bit. Honestly it is hard to tell. My husband says he can tell a difference in my skin overall.

I have been a big fan of yours for sometime. But lately I feel that you have stepped away from the blogging everydayness and are now trying to sell us a product… gone are the days that bloggers blogged.. everything is a sell or pitch for a product. I’m kinda done. Best to you..

Hi Kathy. My blog has definitely evolved, and I’ve been very up front about that. While I do still blog the “everydayness”, as I did this week when I shared about my feelings of inadequacy as a mom trying to get her kids where they need to be, I also have gradually worked towards making this site more of a lifestyle magazine with the fashion and recipes and product reviews with the goal of providing a resource for moms. Although I still write from a very personal place, the posts simply about everydayness have become fewer as my children grow up and I strive to respect their privacy. I’ve been taking product review opportunities for years, and the goal of a review isn’t to sell you anything, but rather to share about a new product for informational purposes. Some people are interested, and some are not. And that’s okay. :-)

I’m also sort of giggling about how I am using the Tria “every day” so this post is most certainly about my “everydayness”. ;-)

I can’t wait to hear about how it works. I’m realizing I need to start taking better care of my skin… getting old stinks! ;)

It would be hard for me to keep up with something daily like that. Especially 10 minutes a night. But if the results are great I think I’d figure out how to keep it going.

Ugh, I am at the phase of my early 30s where I am starting to notice wrinkles. I am so bad about taking care of my skin. Will be interested to see what the before and after look like!

(One of the downsides of having deep dimples is now I have a wrinkle where my dimples are! Booo!)
