The Cutest Flutter Sleeve Tee

Hello, friends. Happy Thursday! Today I’m sharing a simple spring outfit I wore to dinner when we were in Virginia last weekend featuring this cute flutter sleeve tee.

I wore this casual outfit with white jeans and the Bobeau flutter sleeve tee out to dinner with my family last weekend. Such a cute, easy look!

We went to The Home Place, where they serve family style Southern home cooking in this charming old house you see behind me. We’ve been going there to eat since soon after they opened in 1982, and the owner is still there greeting and seating you, just like always. I did notice that he looks a lot older than I remember… funny how that happens.

It’s always busy, and there are no reservations, so you just go and wait, but you don’t mind because you get to sit outside on the porch (if you’re lucky enough to get a seat) or in one of the verandas scattered about the yard. Out back, the view of the Virginia countryside with the mountains rising behind it is absolutely stunning.

I’ve mentioned this flutter sleeve tee a few times already. It’s so cute, I’m tempted to order another one — maybe the lavender. I have a rule against buying duplicates, but this is too cute to have just one, don’t you think?

It’s not much more than a basic tee, but the flutter sleeves are such a cute feminine detail, and the fabric is super soft and comfortable. It’s so easy to throw on with your favorite jeans or shorts, add a few accessories, and done! Instant outfit.

For size reference, I’m wearing a small in this top. It is mostly rayon, though, so the directions say to wash in cold and hang to dry. I hope it doesn’t shrink much.

I love this shade of grey with mid-wash blue jeans, but I also love it with white, and I like how the white jeans give the outfit a dressier look for a dinner out.

I wore my grey espadrille wedges and carried a grey bag. This one is similar.

These are the ones they call “tan” on the website, but they look grey to me! I also think the blush ones would be sooo cute with this outfit.

Also, my toenail polish in these pictures is Zoya Dixie; it’s a really pretty watermelon red. I have CND Studio White on my fingers.

For accessories, I added a long pendant necklace to add interest and to draw the eye down and in towards my waist, and I wore silver teardrop earrings. Since the outfit is rather plain, I wanted larger earrings to bring attention up to my face. Both are old, so no links, sorry!

I finished with my usual D Yurman link ring and oval link bracelet. It makes accessorizing so easy when you have a few go-to pieces that you can wear with pretty much everything. My Alex and Ani wire bracelets are my gold version of this silver link bracelet, so your go-to pieces certainly don’t have to be super expensive, just pieces you love that are versatile and fit your personal style aesthetic so they work with most of your wardrobe.

I think this outfit shows how jeans and a t-shirt can be a cute outfit when you wear them with a great pair of shoes and add a few accessories.

  1. What a fun place to go for dinner, Jo-Lynne!!
And that age thing happens to all of us, huh? We don’t feel older on the inside, but the outsides…..
I rarely buy multiples of something either…but when you really like something it’s not a bad idea. Because soon they won’t see them any more!!

  2. This is the perfect spring outfit. I’m ok with multiples if it’s something I really love and it fits well. I vote for the lavender tee.

  3. Love the understated colors in this outfit It really elevates the look along with the flutter sleeves. Gives jeans and t-shirt a whole new meaning! Do you mind sharing what color lipstick/gloss you are wearing? Very pretty. Beautiful setting in these photos as well.

  4. This is really cute on you. While you’re telling us about your makeup ???? are you wearing your usual Nars blush? The blush and lip colors are very pretty on you.

  5. Love the neutral color tones of this I’m glad to see the grey with white. I haven’t thought to wear my grey shirts with white jeans. Thanks. I think I will order this t-shirt. I love a feminine t-shirt. I’m thinking of wearing my red flat sandals with it all though. 😉 Have fun in Dallas. I don’t have instagram, so hope to hear and see pictures of your trip on your blog.

  6. Another fabulous tee shirt and jeans outfit! Oh, I wish I looked as good as you in them. I love the flutter detail in the sleeves.

  7. I think that the outfit is very cute. While I respect that there is a different price point for everyone, I don’t think that a ring and bracelet that cost > $400 each is “real mom” fashion for the majority of us. Definitely not for the “typical suburban mom” as the description for your blog states……
