Game Changer: Supergoop CC Cream

I’ve been hearing about BB and CC creams for ages, and I keep meaning to try one and see what all the hype is about.

Last week when DeAnn recommended this Supergoop CC Cream in the comments on my Quick & Easy Makeup Routine blog post, I impulsively ordered it. Then I eagerly checked my mailbox every day until it arrived.

Daily Correct CC Cream

What is CC cream?

CC Cream combines the functionality of a primer/foundation with the anti-aging benefits of skin serums to protect, correct and smooth uneven skin.

Sign. Me. Up.

It’s basically an all-in-one product that allows you to simplify your beauty/makeup routine in the morning, and IT REALLY WORKS.

Here is more information on this particular product:

The Supergoop! skincare product line delivers three distinct benefits to the skin: superior broad-spectrum sun protection, amazing anti-aging benefits and super antioxidants to help fight free-radical, wrinkle-forming damage. Supergoop! takes seriously its commitment to formulating with healthy ingredients and natural preservative systems: no parabens, fragrances, petrochemicals or oxybenzone to provide an environment- and skin-compatible choice for UV protection.

So, What’s the Verdict?

To put it simply, I LOVE IT.

It goes on quickly and easily, and I could actually see it filling in my fine lines as I spread it with my fingertips. It’s been ages since I’ve tried a product that had such immediate and noticeable results. I love my Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer that I wrote about a few weeks ago, but it has nothing on this CC Cream when it comes to coverage. It also doesn’t have the anti-aging benefits, so it’s out with the old, and in with the new for this girl!

(If you’re younger and don’t need the anti-aging benefits and coverage of a CC Cream, I would still recommend that tinted moisturizer; it’s a great product. I just think I’ve outgrown it.)

Here is a picture of me wearing this CC Cream that my husband took last weekend, straight out of the camera. No photoshopping, no airbrushing, nothing. See what you think.

I was really impressed with how easily it filled in my fine lines and uneven skintone. I did apply a light dusting of my favorite mineral powder (Jan Iredale PurePressed Base) to my entire face, but I didn’t do all the building and layering in my skin’s problem areas that I normally do after applying tinted moisturizer or foundation.

For me, the true test of a foundation product is always the angry scar on the bridge my nose where I split it on the edge of my bed a few months ago. It is still quite deep and noticeable, and I work hard with several makeup products each morning to fill it in so it’s less glaring. This CC cream filled it right in, instantly, with no extra effort on my part!

The other thing I noticed is how effortlessly this CC Cream matches my skintone. I wasn’t sure, with only 3 shades to choose from, how well it would work. But it did. (I ordered light-medium, since I’m going into summer.)

In fact, it matches my skintone so well, I can wear it alone with no other makeup, and it just makes my skin look more even and youthful, but not like I’m wearing makeup at all. This is perfect for going to the gym or anywhere that you really don’t want to wear makeup but you hate to look ruddy and bare-faced. I have mild rosacea and lots of redness to my skin and acne scars as well, so this product is exactly what I need to feel more confident when I’m not wearing makeup.

If you’re in the market for an easy, effective all-in-one product to simplify your morning routine, I highly recommend trying Supergoop CC Cream. It’s a game changer for me! (Thanks, DeAnn!!)

  1. Hi,
Heard lots of buzz about BB, CC cream and yet to try it so thanks for sharing.
Will check out the Super goop CC @ Nordies. There are 3 Nordstrom’s here in San Diego.

BTW, your skin looks good, fresh, very nice!
And, I too have Rosacea plus pigmentation ( freckles/brown spots)
Decades ago I used bleaching agent, hydro – something that worked beautifully but
    it’s been deemed unhealthy .

Must research another effective product to diminish the freckles, hope to find one.

I Plan to try the CC cream!

  3. I got the Supergoop CC Cream in one of my Birchboxs last summer. You are right,it’s a true game changer,

  4. I’ve been looking for a new BB cream, and wanting to try the CC cream, so thank you for this review! Your skin looks great – I will give this one a try. Have a great week!

  5. Yay! I’m glad you like it! Two thing I usually don’t believe in a beauty product: 1) “perfectly matches skin tone” and 2) “a little goes a long way.” This actually delivered on both even when my skin tone changed throughout the summer. 🙂

  6. I have been wondering about these bb and cc creams so I was happy to see your review. I am always reluctant to change what I use since I have very sensitive skin. Have you had any rash or irritation issues since using it? do you use it daily? Do you moisturize and then apply the cc cream? Thanks! Kim

    1. I do use it daily, and I’ve had no irritation. I don’t generally have issues with that, though. I have tried it over moisturizer and without, and I think I do still need a moisturizer, but I can skip it if I’m in a rush.

  7. I love Supergoop’s CC cream too! I just received it in my Birchbox and I couldn’t believe how well it covered. They also have just plain sunscreen if you need it.

Your skin looks great. Very natural!

  8. I also received this in my Birchbox and ordered more right away! I use their regular sunscreen and face serum already. I cannot believe how well it matched my skin – and provides the right amount of coverage for a low/no-makeup weekend!

  9. I remember a few months back I received Dr Jart’s BB cream in a sample box. I loved the sample so I googled BB creams and stumbled across an article on BB and CC creams. It was basically “the best of” type of article. I believe they rated Almay CC cream the best and said the price was right also. I tried it. I liked it. I then received my full size Dr Jart BB cream that I ordered. I have to say I like the Almay CC cream better than Dr Jart’s BB. I am turning 40 next month so I am thinking that CC is going to be better for me than BB. I have never tried Supergoop CC cream. I have tried another of their products but don’t remember which one. I will give it a try when I need more CC.

  10. Your skin looks amazing, Jo-Lynne! I just bout Smashbox’s CC cream to try even though I really love my Nuance BB cream. Thanks for linking up with #BeautyBuzz!!! See you next week 🙂

    xo,
    Janise

  11. I ordered this solely based on your recommendation! I LOVE IT! it’s not greasy, there is no overwhelming smell (I’m really sensitive to that)… it made my skin look airbrushed… It covered the discoloration beautifully! I’m blonde and went with the light-medium…
I am so impressed! My almost 44 year old face thanks you!!!

  12. So funny this product has been on editorial list for months – I’m way behind in writing these days. I love this stuff even after sampling several brands – SuperGoop beats them all. It really does the job and without the nasty junk too.

  13. Being a few years older I would need to moisturize first. Do you use a primer when you use the Supergoop cc cream.

    1. I don’t. It’s supposed to be an all-in-one, and I’m usually using it when I’m not wanting or needing as much coverage. I do moisturize first when I’m feeling dry.
