Coffee Talk

I mean to post this this morning, but it didn’t happen. I got caught up doing a photo shoot for my 26 Days of Fall Outfits, and before I knew it, it was time to leave for church. I teach the preschoolers every other week, so I couldn’t be late.

So anyway, I got my new fall mani/pedi this week. I’m in love with CND Rubble.

The spa where I go was offering a Back-to-School Special for the month of September that included a mini-facial, mini-massage, and manicure. Because I’m a sucker for clever marketing, I made my appointment and went in on Thursday for my morning of pampering. It was glorious.

Rubble is a great fall color because it’s a neutral and goes with everything. It probably works best on lighter skin tones, but I think it would be flattering on almost anyone.

Last night we had a spontaneous double date with good friends. We ended up at a local French bistro that has an outdoor seating area. The weather was absolutely perfect. I enjoyed a dry rosé and a crabcake, and I picked at a cheese platter that we all shared. Sometimes it’s just nice to get out of the house, ya know?

The weather is so weird here right now. It’s warm enough for summer clothes, but it’s the middle of September, so I opted for a black and white sleeveless top, dark jeans, and my black wedge knee-high boots. I’ll be posting pictures later this week. If you’re on Instagram, you probably saw a sneak peek. I spent almost an hour trying on outfit combinations until I landed on one I liked. Isn’t it crazy how some outfits come together effortlessly, and others take an act of Congress to get it right? I know that no one really cares what I’m wearing, but I like feeling put together, especially when I go out.

There’s not much else going on around here. Our first full week of school is behind us, and it feels great to be back into a predictable routine. I survived the elementary school’s Back to School Social, and I’m looking forward to conference time when I can chat with the teachers and see how the kids are doing, but so far, so good.

This has been a fairly lazy weekend, but next weekend I’m going to be in the Poconos for a blogging conference. I’m pretty excited about that. It will be nice to get away. The Poconos are pretty this time of year, and I get to hang out with Amy. Woot! We’re rooming together and co-teaching a session on Components of an Appealing and User Friendly Blog Design for 2015. Yeah, that’s a mouthful! But it should be fun.

That’s about it for me. I hope you’re enjoying your weekend. I’ll be back in the morning with another cute fall outfit idea for you. I’m pretty excited about this one. TTFN!

  1. I think I know what fall nail polish to buy. It’s gorgeous! A photo shoot, teaching preschool and more…what a Sunday morning of accomplishments. Good for you!

  2. Love that color! Do you bring your polish with you to the salon or do you pick a color when you get there? I’m always so overwhelmed 🙂
