I don’t normally think about long sleeves for summer fashion, but when I asked over on my Facebook page what people are looking for this summer and what they’d like to see in summer outfits, one thing that came up several times was long-sleeve sweater options for indoors — especially for those who work in an office environment. I ordered a few options and this ruffle hem cardigan was one of my favorites.
(Also check out this short sleeve dolman on sale for $29. I have it in the black and it is soooo soft. The blue that is still available would be perfect with this outfit as a substitute for the ruffle hem style I’m wearing.)
These days the longer cardigans are trending, but I love the fit of this ruffle hem style. It has some structure through the waist area, and the ruffle detail is so feminine and pretty. The cotton/poly blend is super soft and comfortable to wear over a tank top or t-shirt. For size reference, I have the small and it’s snug. It would fit perfectly over a tank, but I was almost wishing I had the medium for wearing over this tee. I hope it doesn’t shrink at all!
Speaking of t-shirts, one of the most common requests I get is for a good quality white t-shirt that isn’t see-through. These days those seem harder and harder to come by. After years of frustration, one women set out to create just that, and the result is Tapered Collection — a collection of tees designed to flatter a women’s waistline that are produced in the US of high quality fabric that is thick and soft and not at all see-through.
They sent me a few of their styles to try, and one of my favorites is this tapered v-neck. It comes in white, black, and navy blue. The dolman cap sleeves and modest v-neckline are flattering, and like all her tees, the tapered silhouette that drapes nicely. For size reference, I’m wearing the medium.
I like how this top makes a nice layering piece but also stands alone when you want a simple white tee that’s a little nicer than your standard t-shirt. This top looks as good tucked in as it does left out, but it doesn’t require a front-tuck to drape nicely.

I wore the blue sweater and white tee with my pink released-hem jeans, but if jeans aren’t allowed in your workplace, you can certainly swap them out for your favorite ankle pants.
I accessorized with two necklaces, my pave pendant to fill the neckline and another longer charm necklace to draw the eye down and in towards my waist and also to break up the front of the white tee. Unfortunately the longer necklace is long gone. I like how it has some blue in one of the charms to coordinate with my sweater.
This bucket bag is marked waaaay down, by the way. I carry it all year round, but I think it will be particularly nice for fall. It’s the perfect everyday size and made of high quality leather.
Finally, I wore taupe lace-up espadrilles. I like how the muted color works into the outfit and I wanted a closed-toe shoe for the workplace. These shoes are extremely comfortable, and the tassels on the laces add a fun detail.
