RocksBox Review and Unboxing

rocksbox review and unboxing

I love trying new jewelry and adding new pieces to my collection, but I have to admit that I’ve become a bit overwhelmed with the sheer amount of jewelry I’ve acquired in the past few years, especially since doing Daily Mom Style posts and wanting more variety in my wardrobe. Most of my choices have turned out to be a good investment, and I wear a lot of what I have, but there are pieces that inevitably fall by the wayside as I add new ones to my collection. Sometimes I wish I could wear my jewelry for a few months or until I tire of it and then trade it in for something new and different.

The latest in subscription box services allows you to do just that. And also? WHY did I not think of this?

RocksBox is your secret to an unlimited closet of designer jewelry. Members pay a flat rate of $19/month to get access to a personalized rotating closet of designer jewelry, sent in sets of three at a time. But get this. You don’t actually have to purchase the pieces you wear.

That’s right! You can wear them for as long as you want, and when you’re ready for a change, send them back with the pre-paid label and receive three more pieces. How fun is that!!? Your jewelry comes in this adorable box, and each piece is inside a white mesh bag. The folks at Rocksbox provided me with a complimentary 3-month subscription so I could see how it works.

Don’t worry, if you receive something you can’t bear to part with, you can purchase it — and your price is 20% off the retail price.

Check out my video to see what I got in my first RocksBox. Unfortunately I wasn’t clear on how this is different from other services when I did the video, so I had to add some captions to correct myself.

If you’re interested in signing up, use my referral link to get $10 off the first month of your membership. You will receive a referral link that you can share with your friends, which earns you $25 in purchase credits that you can use towards future purchases at RocksBox. You can only use the purchase credits towards jewelry you buy from your boxes; you cannot apply it to your monthly membership fee.

I like the three pieces that I received, and I’ve already worn two of them. I’m not sure the necklace is something I would get much wear out of. I will probably send that back.

I like the earrings and I wore them Saturday night to a neighborhood party. Aren’t they fun!? I can see myself wearing these a few times and sending them back. I like them, but I don’t think I need them for the long term.

But the bracelet, I really love and I’ve worn it a few times already. It’s a keeper. When I send my box back, I will pay the member price to keep the bracelet. It’s the cuff that’s on top. Such a great layering piece. I know I will get tons of wear out of it.

  1. This is BRILLIANT!!! Well, my hubs won’t think so but I SURE DO!! I adore this idea because I am ALWAYS wanting to change up my jewelry but admittedly I change it so much I rarely buy anything other than the clearance at Kohls or other very inexpensive pieces.

  2. Thanks for the review — I had not heard of this before. I am not sure about this trend of having a selection of items sent to a customer (stitich fix, rocks box, etc!) … I enjoy shopping and feel that many of the items when you shop this way are very overpriced and would likely be a better sale price in the store! My fave of this box is the pair of silver earrings… they look really great on you!!
