New Year, New Skincare: Rodan + Fields

Rodan + Fields: age defying skincare

When I did my tidying up throughout the house last week, my bathroom was the first place I addressed after I was done with my closet. I tossed out a gazillion samples of beauty and skincare products I’d been sent to test out and report on over the past year or so. For some reason, after I’m done testing them, I tend to keep them “just in case.”

Now all that’s left is the skincare regimen I’ve been using lately: Rodan + Fields Redefine. My bathroom vanity is now as minimal as my closet, and I LOVE IT.

In fact, I’m so committed to these products that I joined Rodan + Fields as an Independent Consultant, and I want to tell you why I’m excited about it.

Rodan + Fields was started by two dermatologists, who also happen to be women. I love being a part of a company owned by women. That’s one of the reasons I signed on to be a stylist with Stella & Dot. Doctors Rodan and Fields are also the creators of Proactiv® — the acne line of skincare products that is so successful. They founded Rodan + Fields in 2002 to extend their vision of bringing dermatology-based skin treatment to everyone.

I’m no stranger to high quality skincare products, and I have a pretty high bar. So far my experience with Rodan + Fields has been fantastic. I absolutely love the fresh, light scent of the products and the way they feel on my skin. They’re rich enough to give me the moisture my dry, aging skin needs, without being heavy and perfumey as some anti-aging skincare lines tend to be.

Best of all, it’s not JUST a skincare line. It is also a resource. The RF Connection is available every day and is made up of a team of nurses and highly-trained individuals who give confidential advice on any question you might have relating to your skin.

They also have a variety of supplements and tools to enhance their skincare line, including a Micro-Exfoliating Roller that is supposed to mimic the results of injectable fillers. I cannot WAIT to try that. So far I only have the Redefine Regimen  and the Night Cream, but I’ll be trying everything so I can get to know the entire product line and answer any questions you may have.

I’m not getting any younger, and I believe consistency is the best way to get lasting results with skincare products, so I’m excited to have found a skincare line I’m willing to commit to for the long-term and relieved that I no longer feel pressured to try every new thing that lands in my inbox. I’ll be sharing about products I like from time to time, but this won’t become a huge part of my blog content. I just wanted to share in case anyone is interested!

  1. Love R+F. I use Redefine and the Amp Roller w the serum. I actually prefer the Reverse face wash to the Redefine face wash. I also love their exfoliating scrub, self tanner, sun screen and body lotion.

  2. I’m sure it felt good to toss all those other products. I need to do more for my skin, but I’m new to all of the products and process. I’ll be looking forward to hearing more from you about this.

  3. I was introduced to Rodan & Fields years ago when Proactiv was first introduced back in 1995. It solved my adult acne problem. Fast forward a few years to my current age of 54. I now use the Reverse line and I absolutely LOVE it! My skin no longer looks dry and tried it’s youthful and moist without being oily. I haven’t tried the amp roller and serum, but plan to soon. I highly recommend Rodan & Fields!

  4. I need help in this dept too! I’ll be 60 (gasp!) in May and my skin is showing more “character” with each passing day. I use a prescription retin A type cream a couple times a week, but i want to have a skincare regimen for daily use.
Please send me info on these products, STAT!!! Ha…

BTW, I’ve got my capsule wardrobe ready to rock n roll! So easy since most of my stuff is in storage while we’re remodeling our home and living with my mom. She lives right on the beach on the north Oregon coast, so it’s not too tough to take, lol!

    Have an amazing day!!

  5. Please share more details on the specific benefits you have seen. How expensive are the products? Your advice is always so informative!! Thanks!

  6. I use their products too Love them. My daughter in law became a consultant because of her love for all their products.

  7. Are samples available? I have just started hearing about this product line but don’t know much about it. I am hitting the Big 5 – 0 this year so always looking for good products that actually work and are good for your skin. Thanks!

  8. I started following your blog a couple months ago and look forward to it everyday! I too just became a independent consultant for Rodan & Fields on January 2nd. I love the company and the products. As a matter of fact, I’d like to share your blog on my Facebook to spread the good news about R&F and your blog if that’s ok with you!

  9. I found you through gina’s blog and I’m so happy I did! I’ve been blogging for a long time too. It’s great that you feel more focused with yours. I blog about both beauty and my personal style as well, and I agree that the outfit posts are easier and more enjoyable for me too. I still love both, but product reviews can be tricky because everyone has different skin, taste, problem areas etc. What works for me may not work for others.

  10. Please be more specific on the products you use from R & F and more description on the benefits you have seen from this
    Thanks!!!

  11. Have just started following you since December ! I have lost my 24 year old daughter to the south and have followed Cyndi to try and stay “in southern fashion” LOL (if that makes sense) and then found you.

Love the blog great job! I live in Nevada and started using the eye cream (friend has recently started selling the products)
so far happy and will be moving on to next products. Keep us up to date ! 🙂

Oh and capsule wardrobe AHHHHHHHHHH don’t have it in me yet .

  12. I totally understand where you are coming from on beauty products. I’m also in the same boat of not wanting to try tons of new items – I just like finding my tried and true favorites and sticking with them! (Hence the reason I’ve only done one beuaty product post…not much changes! LOL.) With skincare in particular people’s skin is so different I feel like it’s impossible to recommend what works for me and have it be a fit for someone else.

Loved collaborating with you on today’s post and hope we can do it again sometime! 🙂

  13. I too would be interested in more details. I just turned 59 and gravity is beginning. Do you have a recommendation for dry, aging skin?

  14. R&F are great products I hear. I’ve been a Mary Kay consultant for thirty years, and I am sold on our new Time Repair Line. It’s perfect for our “vintage” skin needs. How lucky are we that we have such great product lines to use!

  15. Would love to know how it’s going. Still using it daily? Have you added any of the other products or felt the need to supplement with other brands?
