Navigating Food Allergies with The Motherhood

Tomorrow I’ll be participating in another chat over at TheMotherhood.com. Once again, we will be discussing food allergies, and this time we will focus on how to manage food allergies with kids at playdates, sleepovers and summer camp.

This topic, as many of you know, is near and dear to my heart, as my son has severe allergic reactions to tree nuts and sesame.

This summer, for the first time ever, I will be sending him to overnight camp for a week. I admit, I am a bit fearful of letting him off on his own for so long without my supervision. Fortunately these days camps are accustomed to dealing with various food allergies, so I’m sure they will exercise caution in the dining hall, but there’s always the snack bar and candy and stuff like that. I’ve taught my son to read labels, but he isn’t always as careful as I would like him to be, so I look forward to learning from as well as contributing to this chat.

Join us tomorrow at 1:00 EST at TheMotherhood.com when Lori Sandler of Divvies Bakery will lead a discussion on Navigating Food Allergies: At Camp, on Sleepovers and Playdates with Sandy Rubenstein of Camp Wingate*Kirkland and Renee Flax of the American Camp Association along with LoriSandler, Nirasha Jaganath, Caryn BaileyJodi GrundigJen Rabulan-Bertram (and me!)
