For Mom’s Busy Mornings: Vaseline Spray & Go

My morning routine is always a bit harried. I’m usually trying to fit in a shower between getting the kids off to school, my morning run, and whatever appointment I have scheduled. Even if there is no appointment taking me out of the house, there are usually a gazillion emails to answer, posts to edit and share, and the endless litany of household chores demanding my attention.

My time in the bathroom is ALWAYS rushed, and every minute counts. I don’t have the luxury of pampering myself. What mom does!? It’s about getting out the door as quickly as possible, and I’m always looking for ways to fit everything in with as little time as possible.

I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

First, I usually plan my outfit for the day during my morning run. I know people who lay out their clothes the night before, but I’m no where near that organized. During my run, when I need something to think about to make the time go by faster, I contemplate my wardrobe choices and plan my outfit. If I have a few new items I want to style, I will ponder my options while I run. It keeps my mind occupied so I don’t focus on the energy it’s taking to run, and when I get back to the house, I already know what I’m going to wear.

Another way I fit it all in is to do my daily push-ups and planks while the shower is heating up. I hate waiting for the water to warm up so I turn on the shower, and then I drop and do 15 pushups and a 60-second plank. My trainer taught me that trick. Not only is it a great time to fit in daily toning exercises, but you remember to do them because you associate them with a daily task.

My husband took these pictures! He’s a good sport, wouldn’t you say??

Finally, if there is one thing I skip on busy mornings, it’s lotion. The extra three minutes it takes to rub lotion in all over my body, and then the wet, sticky feeling that remains for several minutes afterwards is often enough to dissuade me from bothering with it. But after a few days of that, my skin becomes flaky and dry and just plain yuck. I really need to make moisturizing my dry skin a top priority.

When I was invited to test Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer for a sponsored campaign, I was instantly intrigued.

Vaseline-Spray-and-Go-Moisturizer

This product is a continuous 360° spray lotion that moisturizes deeply and absorbs in seconds. All you have to do is spray it in a line down each arm and each leg, rub it in with a few quick swipes, and you can put your clothes on immediately.

There is no wet, sticky residue that sticks when you pull on your pants, no waiting for your skin to dry, and no mess.

I had my doubts that it would truly moisturize, but it definitely keeps the flakes away and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. It makes it quick and easy to fit in my daily moisturizer, and it comes in three varieties so there’s surely something for everyone — Aloe Fresh, Total Moisture (my fave) and Cocoa Radiant. Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer is my new secret weapon for getting myself dressed and out of the house in record time.

  1. Looks like a great product! I am always hesitant to try new things because my skin is so darn sensitive.

And I have decided you really ARE Superwoman. Doing a plank for 60 seconds? I don’t think I could last 5! Have a great Tuesday Jo-Lynne.

  2. Planks before shower? Genius! I’m the same way when I run…anything to keep my mind off of what I’m doing! 🙂 Thanks for another great post, as a new follower, it’s been fun!

  3. Have used and loved! Very easy!!! Love your photos in the post, too! 🙂 PLANK – you go girl!

  4. I’m awful about putting lotion on. This sounds like it might be a good solution. What are the differences in the 3 varieties? Are they different scents or different formulas? Hubby doesn’t like scented anything so I’d probably try the leas scented variety first lol.

  5. Awesome workout tips! I’ve seen good things about the Vaseline Spray & Go and just haven’t tried it yet. The Cocoa formula sounds lovely so I think I need to pick it up next time I’m at CVS. 🙂

    xo Always, Abby

  6. I’ve tried Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer and absolutely LOVE it…. but also? Love that you are thinking about your daily fashion while running! I need to try that, maybe it will help keep me motivated.

  7. Love the idea of doing the pushups and planks while waiting for the shower!

I’m so bad about using moisturizer. Spray and go sounds like such an easy way to get it done.

  8. Thanks for the push-ups and planks while the shower warms up tip! I have to try that. Sometimes I only have time for a quick run and I tell myself that I’ll do the floor exercises later and I always forget. This way I don’t have to sit around and wait for the shower to be ready.
