We started out our weekend at the ballpark. This time of year, it’s a pretty safe bet that if I’m not at home, that’s where you’ll find me. My son is in a rec league of 13-15 year old boys, and now that they’re old enough to really play, they’re quite fun to watch.
While I was sitting there, waiting for them to warm up, I took this shot. I was wearing my workout clothes because I had a training session scheduled right smack dab in the middle of the ballgame. Loving my Saucony Kinvaras. They’re lightweight and breathable — perfect for this heat we’ve been having!
This is a ring my daughter made with her new Rainbow Loom. It’s a really cool little gadget that’s been keeping her busy since school let out.
We went to a minor league baseball game on Saturday night.
Here’s a story for you. In typical Shane fashion, we were in the car, all decked out in our Phillies gear, on our way to the game when we realized we didn’t have tickets.
No – we didn’t leave them at home. We had never actually received them. We were going with our church group, and I RSVPed but never got confirmation. Evidently my RSVP ended up in a spam folder and was never seen. I never had the presence of mind to follow up, and for some reason I just assumed we were all set. I really shouldn’t be responsible for small children. It’s a wonder my kids are all alive and well.
So. We decided to continue on and hope to get tickets at the gate.
As it turned out, we could actually get tickets in the same section as our church group, and there were quite a few empty seats around us so we were able to spread out. Our kids’ friends ended up sitting with us, and I’m sure they drove everyone around us bat crazy, hopping up and down all night.
This is how I coped. Heh.
Actually, I was disappointed. It’s been years since I’ve had a Mike’s, and it tasted like chemicals. I only drank about half, but I thought it was a cool picture with the stadium blurred out in the background so I thought I’d share.
The night ended with a pretty fabulous fireworks display. After a few lousy shots, I managed to get this picture with my iPhone.
On Tuesday I had a 5-mile run on my training schedule so I decided to head over to one of our local trails. I grabbed this picture at the end. Even though it was hot and muggy, it was a beautiful morning.
When this posts, I’ll be in California at the Bosch HQ learning all about the engineering that goes into the quietest dishwashers on earth. So far, I’m loving mine. I can’t wait to get home and share it with you!
