Insert Witty Title Here

I’ve said before that I hate coming up with titles.  I always admire those bloggers who come up with original and clever titles for their posts.  But I have resolved myself to the fact that I am not one of them.

So.

I have no point to this post.  Which is perhaps another reason why I had difficulty coming up with a title.  That and the clever bone that I’m lacking.

Why am I typing a post when I have no point and nothing really to share?  Well, the last time I did that, I got 19 comments and someone said they like my long, rambly posts.  Which makes me wonder why I work so hard sometimes to come up with a post with a purpose.

So let me start by tying up some lose ends.  I am not going to be a Silpada rep.  I have looked into it, and the start-up costs are more than I care to put out, and I’m afraid I wouldn’t get out there and have enough shows to recoup my initial investment.

And I would hate asking people to have parties for me, even though I think I’d enjoy going to them and hosting them.  And we all know I’d enjoy buying lots of purty jewelry at 50% the retail cost.  But, for now, I’ll have to be satisfied with my lone pair of Silpada earrings.

Let’s see, what else?

Oh.  I joined NaBloPoMo.  November is National Blog Posting Month.  What, you didn’t know?  Isn’t it right up there with Christmas and Easter?

Well, anyway, all you have to do is post every day for a month. It’s a way to find some new blogs to read and for others to find yours.  And I hear there may be some prizes and drawings at the end.  And that’s good enough for me!  So who’s gonna join me?  Come on, now.  You know you wanna.

Some of you might remember my debate about my daughter’s Halloween costume.  I decided to cave and get her something new.  But before I dropped $40 on another princess costume, I sent an email out to my neighbors, and lo and behold, I found a Snow White costume that I can borrow.  She would rather be Ariel, but she is willing to be Snow White.  So there we have it.  Problem solved, and my pocketbook’s none the lighter for it.

One last thing.  I was at the mall yesterday, and 9West has all of their new fall boots on sale 30%-off.  If you’re in the market for boots, you ought to check ’em out.

Oh.  And the no frivolous spending thing?  Well, it’s off.

Well, it was off.  Now it’s back on again.

I think.

We’ll see.

Hm.

Let’s just say we may not be getting carpet in our basement until 2009.  Ahem.

  1. going to check out the NaBloPoMo..

I have on a brand new pair of BCBG boots that I got at 45% off and I am in LURV!!!

  2. “Well it WAS off. Now it’s on again.”

That made me laugh. Good work around, girl! 🙂

New boots. What fun. I just got new black ones, now I think I’d like brown. And I’m still considering some snowboots, too. Land’s End is about to get some money from me, I believe.

Hey! I know! You can wear your boots in the basement and they’ll make that pleasing click clack sound on the carpetless floor and you’ll think, “Yeah. It’s all good.”

I may just join you on the NaBloPoMo thing. It’ll be a cinch for you, but probably a little bit of a stretch for me.

    Have a lovely day, dear.

  3. I’m glad you’ve joined NaBloPoMo! I made a lot of new friends last year when I did it and it was fun.

I’m also glad you found another costume to use, that’s wonderful! Both my sons decided that they were using their old costumes again this year, which surprised me but I’m fine with. I’ll just have to find some way to make Pikachu’s legs a little longer, I think this is the third year Five has worn it! 🙂

  4. I am going to check out NaBloPoMo…Thanks for the cosutme update, I was wondering. I need help, I almost bought a second costume for my two year old just because they are so cute! I didn’t, but I thought about it:)

  5. Yay NaBloPoMo! In consideration of The Great Mofo Delurk today, I am sending this little comment your way. I enjoy reading your blog regularly and look forward to every new post.

  6. I do enjoy your rambly posts……
I just got something in the mail for $25 off of my purchase of (at least) $75 boots from my favorite shoe store.
’tis the season to be shopping!

  7. Yea, titles. Always a problem for me, too.

Thanks for the tip about the boots, and…NaBloPoMo. I’ll join as well. (I’m nothing if not wordy)

  8. SO glad you aren’t becoming a rep. Some of those businesses I’m ok with…like Creative Memories. But as a Mom who works part-time, it really IRKS me when the product rep starts out with why she became a rep….”I wanted to be a SAHM.” Which is fine. But half of the women in the room WORKED. It really just doesn’t fly well with me. It is an infringement on friendships to invite your “friends” to a lot of those parties. I love the earrings though !

  9. Well the carpet may have to wait. Boots are boots, right? Good going with the costume. I’m definitely going to check out national blog month. Nothing like a litte pressure!
