Holiday GG: Lundby Dollhouses

smaland doll house lundby

If you’re looking for a quality gift for a little girl in your life this holiday season, look no future than the Swedish Smaland Doll’s House by Lundby.

They sent us one to test drive, and I was surprised by how excited my daughters were to receive it. They already have a couple of dollhouse, but there was something special about this one even before I took it out of the box.

My older daughter who is 10 had a blast putting it together. It comes in a flat box and requires assembly. But once it’s put together, it’s very durable and can be easily transported from room to room.

The Smaland Doll’s House consists of a two-story home with 6 rooms, windows that open and close, and a balcony off the upstairs sitting room. And best of all, it has electricity! Take a look.

Both girls really enjoyed personalizing the house and the small scale of the accessories. This is definitely an older child’s dollhouse — perfect for my 8 and 10 year olds.

It comes with SO many options for accessories, and they are incredibly life-like! My daughter played with the kitchen pieces on the counter for about an hour before putting them in the dollhouse.

In fact, my 13-year-old son even got in on the action.

I mean, doesn’t this look like a real live kitchen!???

My daughter actually took that photo with my iPhone. She’s becoming my little blog helper!

There’s even a Lundby Magazine to share DIY ideas and decor inspiration. Check this out! You can wallpaper the walls and decorate the rooms.

Lundby doll’s houses are typical examples of modern dream homes – in miniature format: 1:18 scale. All of their houses are based on the fundamental belief that the urge to play lies in the details, which you can see by their painstaking attention to detail and design. No detail is too small to be overlooked. This is definitely a WOW gift — the kind you set out unwrapped under the tree as Santa’s big surprise on Christmas morning. I kind of wish I’d saved it and done just that.

The Smaland Doll’s House provides imaginative play and keeps kids busy for HOURS! The doll’s house and accessories can be purchased on

So it sounds like you need to buy everything separate right? What do you recommend? I love the idea for my 8 year old who is interested in interior design. Very cool

Yes, you do. Which is kind of nice in that it gives you the opportunity to give meaningful gifts in the future as well. And they can even buy wallpaper and things like that to decorate with.

My girls really love the kitchen pieces. It comes with teeny tiny silverware and serving pieces.

Would 3 1/2 be to young for this dollhouse? I’m looking at a few different ones but would rather not buy one now and then later again. :)
