Happy Mother’s Day!

Good morning, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there! I hope you’re having a nice weekend.

My daughter got home from college on Thursday night, and then we had the opportunity to see The Hooters on Friday night. They’re a Philly-based 80s rock band, for the uninitiated among us.

Paul’s brother had 4 tickets, so he invite us to join them, and we had so much fun. I always enjoy concerts with Paul, but it’s even better to go with another couple who likes the band as much as we do.

We’ve seen them several times over the years, and they always put on a good show. They played at a smaller venue in the suburbs, and it was definitely an over-50 crowd… I know, not nearly as cool as seeing Taylor Swift, who was also in Philly this weekend, but definitely more my speed!

Yesterday was dreary and rainy here, so I just puttered around the house and got some work done, but today is shaping up to be a beautiful Mother’s Day. I went out for an early morning walk/run, and Paul is grilling steaks after church today. I’m hoping he’ll wrangle the kids into make the sides so I can sit by the pool and soak up some sun.

Then the Sixers play the Celtics in Game 7 of the NBA semi-finals later this afternoon, so that is a BIG DEAL in our household. We’re definitely be planning our Mother’s Day festivities around that, which is fine by me. I’ll be glued to the TV, as well.

In other news, Evereve is doing a Mother’s Day Sale, so I whipped up a quick shopping widget with my favorites, in case you’re interested in treating yourself to something new!

It’s one day only, and prices are as marked. (Sale prices are NOT reflected in the shopping widget below.)

Also, my White House Black Market Matte Jersey Twist Front Dress is still on sale and fully stocked! This is what I’m planning to wear to church today.

I hope you have a lovely, relaxing Mother’s Day, and enjoy what’s left of the weekend!

  1. Happy Mothers Day to you! I know having Caroline home to join the rest of you makes it even more special.
Love both of the dresses on you.

  2. Love the Hooters! I dated a young serviceman from Philly who introduced me to this wonderful band. In Southern California we were 80’s dancing to “And We Danced”. Love that you got to enjoy them. Happy Mother’s Day!

  3. Oh my gosh, I love the Hooters. Back in the late 80’s, they toured with Bryan Adams, and I wanted to go so badly. but I was in college and couldn’t afford it. You’re a lucky girl to see them several times. And I love both of those dresses.

  4. Love the Hooters! However, will be seeing TS in Pittsburgh, June 18th! You could easily pull off a TS concert. My daughters keeps sending outfit suggestions. “Mom, you can pull off the Red Era”. Lol…
