I used to be a HUGE fan of the show Project Runway with Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum. Then my husband and I gave up cable TV for budget reasons, and I haven’t seen a season since. However, I always enjoyed the stylish Heidi Klum, the cool yet classy Tim Gunn, and their zany casts of characters.
Most are long forgotten, but a couple of the former contestants are memorable to me. One is Chris March, who I actually got to meet through a blogging campaign a few years ago, and now now another talented designer who got his start on Project Runway is making news.
Do you remember Christian Siriano??? He won Season 4 at only 21 years old, and he was QUITE a character, as I recall. He went on to launch his own womenswear collection, which debuted at New York Fashion Week in 2008, and it was such a success that he opened his own store in the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan in 2012.
His fashions are a red carpet favorite for celebrities and have graced women such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Victoria Beckham, and Taylor Swift.
But guess what!? You don’t have to be among the rich and famous to wear his styles because Christian Siriano has just launched an affordable collection exclusively for Payless ShoeSource. I couldn’t WAIT to click over and see it, and I wasn’t disappointed.
As flamboyant as he could be on the show, he has created a wearable and classic collection of shoes and handbags for Payless that I think you’re going to love.
I absolutely ADORE this Kaged Peep Toe Pump. I was so bummed they were out of stock in my size. Wouldn’t they be the perfect way to jazz up a classic dress for a romantic dinner out??
Another pair of shoes that caught my eye are these Manic Perforated Pumps. They come in white, black, and cobalt. I adore the cobalt, and that’s the pair I ordered. When they came in the mail, I couldn’t resist trying them on and styling an outfit, even though I couldn’t really put any weight on my bad foot when we took pictures. But look how cute! Perfect for a date night or lunch with the girls.
And they will be gorgeous for spring if I’m cleared to wear heels by then. Take a look at this outfit. I have similar pieces in my closet.
Oh, and isn’t that whimsical Paige Pouch by Christian Siriano for Payless too cute?? I couldn’t resist adding it to this outfit. That’s right, he has handbags in this collection too!
It will be a while before I’m wearing heels again so I was thrilled to find a bunch of cute ballet flats in his Payless collection as well… like the Emma Rhinestone Flat and the leopard Bandit Flat.
And I love the simplicity of the taupe Point Flat.
These are going to be fabulous everyday shoes to wear with skinny jeans or dresses… as soon as I’m given the all-clear to wear something on my feet besides sneakers and boots!
