Fashion Over 40 #WhatIWore 12.24.14

Happy Christmas Eve, everyone! I hope you’re all feeling better than I am this morning. I woke up this morning with a headache and clogged sinuses. Merry Christmas to me.

Welcome back to my weekly Fashion Over 40 post where I share what I wore this week and link up with other fabulous fashion bloggers around the web. I’ve gotta tell you, I’m really getting tired of trying to make yoga pants look stylish. In fact, most days, I’m not thinking much about style. With my foot in this stupid brace, I can only wear sneakers or one pair of ballet flats. And I can’t go anywhere that requires any amount of walking or standing so I’ve been spending most of my time at home.

Before we get started with the outfits, do NOT miss the HUGE R Minkoff SALE going on now through Jan 1st!! Inventory is already getting low so if there’s something you want, don’t wait!! You can see my top picks here.

What I Wore This Week

I think I wore this outfit THREE days in a row last week. No joke. I just got up and put it on again. Just keeping it real. I tried leaving the jacket unzipped as someone suggested, but it just doesn’t work for me. It doesn’t hang straight because of, um, the girls. So zipped it is! Plus, I am usually wearing it for warmth and I want it zipped. I did find that leaving the neck open makes it more flattering.

I wore this outfit to church on Sunday. I wanted to be warm.

I wore this one day last week and then I put it on again on Saturday. I took it off because I was cold, but I got my daughter to snap a picture first. I LOVE this black top sent to me to style from Fabletics. I will be wearing this a ton when the weather gets warmer in the spring.

I wore this yesterday here at home. I didn’t get a new picture, but I basically wore this with my dashing medical boot on my left foot.

Winter Outift: leggings with drapey sweater and infinity scarf

Shop the look: Hard Tail Long Skinny Tee c/o Shop Adorn // gray drapey sweater (verrry old) // MUST HAVE LEGGINGS (only $36 at Nordstrom) // UGG Classic Cardy // Stella & Dot pendant necklace (old) //soiree stud earrings // scarf via Stitch Fix // Stella & Dot Snakeskin “The Switch” Tote

And finally, I wore this outfit again this week to go out with some friends to an opera dinner at a local Italian restaurant. It was super fun. I didn’t get a picture so I’ll use this one. I wore one grey boot and then I wore my medical boot on the other foot. I was too cold to wear the ballet flats, and my foot has been bothering me again and I’m not convinced the brace gives me enough support.

I wore this outfit to go out to dinner with friends. You’ve seen this before and most of the components are old, although the snakeskin tote and the Florence jeans are still available. Oh, and the jewelry! I love those silver teardrop earrings from Stella & Dot, and I enjoy layering those 3 silver bangles for a fun casual look.

  1. I cannot wait to start using my Steela & Dot snakeskin tote. My daughter wrapped it and put it under the tree for me to open tomorrow!

  2. I LOVE LOVE your style thank God for you, so many people in thier 40s dress so frumpy, to me age is a number, of course I am not saying to dress like a 15yr.old but we can be in our 40s and still look great, and even in our 50s and 60s I will never be caught dead in mom jeans and a muu muu
