Hello from Rhode Island!!!

I’m up here for a press trip with CVS Pharmacy, but I managed to finagle an extra day to spend with my dear friend Melissa who moved up here this past summer.

Of course we drove straight from the airport to the mall. This is me outside of Nordstrom with her little guy, Colin. He gave me the biggest hug when they picked me up at the airport. Such a sweetie.

Then last night we enjoyed a seafood dinner by the water. I am so loving this town. I’d move here in a hot minute if my husband wasn’t so attached to his day job.

So onto Daily Mom Style. My photos leave something to be desired this week, but I did my best. With the kids back in school, I’ve had to resort to my timer and indoor shots once again.

This is what happens when you put your camera on timer and don’t check to make sure you are in the frame. In my defense, I had been at the ER till 2AM the night before with my son. I wasn’t playing with a full deck. I love my new Banana Republic Pop Stripe Timeless Tee. It’s casual and comfy turned up a notch. It was a chilly day so I wore this light hoodie with it, and I pulled on my oldest and comfiest jeans with silver ballet flats. The earrings are from Studio Jewel.

I wore the outfit again to Bible Study on Sunday night so I tried once again to get a decent picture. Now I have a tree growing out of my head. I GIVE! But at least you can see the whole outfit this time. It’s nothing special, but the t-shirt is super cute, right?? (Just pay no never mind to those wrinkles. Sheesh.)

 stripes and jeans

I have no recollection where I wore this next outfit. It’s been that kind of week. The charcoal top is from LOFT last fall, and the green jeans are a closet staple, as you probably know! In fact, I didn’t realize until I went to put this week’s Daily Mom Style post together that I wore these green jeans twice. Yes, I love them that much.

Here we are, green jeans, take two! I wore this outfit to church on Sunday. The cardi and embellished tank are from Madewell, several seasons ago.

The lighting was kind of weird in that picture so I got my daughter to take this photo outside when she got home from school. It was a bit windy!

I’ve always loved the details on this top. The necklace, again, is from Studio Jewel. It’s been a Studio Jewel week!

This is a casual outfit I just wore around the house on Monday. I pulled out my Gap medallion tee (sold out) and paired it with skinny jeans and these snakeskin ballet flats by Sofft that unfortunately are going back. I was trying to find sensible ballet flats that I can wear this fall that won’t aggravate my plantar fasciitis, but these don’t quite cut it. I need something more like my Orthaheel sandals but in a ballet flat. Oh well, you win some, you lose some, right??

And this was my travel outfit yesterday. Actually I wore my black ballet flats and they were so uncomfortable on my heel that when I arrived in Providence, Melissa took me straight to the mall to find something else to wear for the next few days. I ended up with the Cole Haan Milly Wedge.

I needed something dressy enough for business events but comfortable enough not to aggravate my sensitive feet. The low wedge helps take the pressure off my heel and the Nike Air technology is definitely cushy. I don’t love the looks of them, but they are sensible, AND they were 25% off. SCORE!

Here’s the outfit I wore — my elbow-patch pullover sweater with dark skinny jeans.

I also pulled my black leather jacket out of storage and debuted that for the fall season. But alas, no photo.

Hi Jo-Lynne —- just a quick note re: your Orthoheels —- not sure where you purchase yours, but do check the QVC website, they have a TON and I know they have ballet flats (and many other cute styles).

PS & BTW love the BR top you’re wearing, super cute !!

Lookin’ good! I really like the shoes you are pairing with the jeans. They look casual but stylish. Now about that elbow patch sweater, you still don’t think it’s itchy. I want it. :)

Did you ever purchase the Tiek shoes you mentioned in a previous post? I too am always looking for a great, comfortable flat! Love your posts. Thanks!
