Fashion Over 40: Daily Mom Style 04.01.15

Welcome back to my weekly Fashion Over 40: Daily Mom Style post where I share what I wore this week and link up with other fabulous fashion bloggers around the web! I’m publishing this from Arizona! No, that’s not an April Fool’s Joke. We arrived late last night to 85 degrees and a dry breeze. Heaven!!!

It was a fairly uneventful day, but a long one. The resort is as gorgeous as I remembered, and the kids are thrilled to spend the day exploring and playing in the pools. I’m thrilled to have a day to rest and recuperate and soak up the sun.

Meanwhile, here’s what I wore last week . . .

I wore this first outfit one chilly day in Philly last week. It was really too cold for short sleeves, but I’m so over winter, I don’t care.

This is another top sent to me from Leave Nothing But Footprints. It’s called the Purity Shirt, although I’m not sure why because with the mandarin collar, every time I lean forward, my husband gives me The Look. You know, the one where you can tell he’s enjoying enjoy the view… It’s a great top, and I love it, but I just have to be mindful to not lean forward in front of the mailman and give him a show.

The lipstick, by the way, is It Girl from Lorac. I love it for spring. It’s the perfect peachy-pink tone. Unfortunately, it is now only available on eBay. (I bought it last year.)

We took a photo of the rear view for this one so you can see the details on the shirt. And I carried the green bag because I felt like it gave the outfit a needed a burst of springtime.

The gold espadrille flats are a new purchase this year. I LOVE THEM. And I especially love that my Superfeet insoles fit in them and give me added support.

And this is a close-up of my bracelet. It’s one of those that I love, but I often feel like it doesn’t go with many outfits. That’s the nice thing about wearing a neutral palette like black and denim. It gives you the opportunity to wear colorful accessories that you might not wear very often.

I played it casual on Thursday for my PT appointment. I love this ombre sweatshirt that I received from Fabletics last season. I wore it with my Athleta Metro Skinny Pants and Asics sneakers. I didn’t bother with accessories, as you can see. I actually sorta forgot them. Ooops!

On Saturday night, I wore this outfit out to dinner. It’s a lot of black and grey. I contemplated changing into a top with color, but I ran out of time and just wore this. My husband wanted to know where I’d parked my motorcycle, ha!

The Blogger Life Tee is from That Chic Mom Tees, an Etsy shop owned by fellow fashion blogger Ellen. The black moto jacket is from LOFT last fall, and I wore slightly distressed dark skinny jeans this time instead of the camo jeans. By the way, these Florence skinnies in the versatile Warner wash are on sale at Nordstrom right now! It is not the same wash as the ones I have, but it is just as versatile. The fit on these jeans is fantastic. I love them so much that I just ordered them in white.

The ankle boots were a purchase from The Walking Company last fall, right before I was diagnosed with that tendon tear, so I was unable to wear them for the longest time. Finally, I wore these Silpada Half Moon Earrings because I felt like the outfit needed a bold, silver earring.

This was my church outfit on Sunday. I created the outfit around the Elodie Necklace. Coral and green is my favorite color combo for spring.

The jean jacket, white top, and coral jeans are all from CAbi Clothing, and the flats are from Payless. They actually belong to my 12-year-old daughter. They went better with this outfit than anything I have in my closet so I borrowed them.

Since the necklace was the main attraction, I wore simple diamond studs and a few Alex and Ani bangles. The green bag was the perfect compliment to the green in the necklace, and I love how it contrasts with the pants.

This is what I wore on Monday, for a PT appointment and to run errands and pack. Everything I’m wearing (except for the shoes) is from Fabletics. They send me clothes every month to sample, and I love their styles. This is the Oula Tank in Black Tie Dye with the Andrea Shrug. The capris are from last season.

And that’s a wrap! I will be showing much lighter looks next week!
