Fall Finally Fell!

After that cold snap back at the beginning of September, "Indian summer" returned to Pennsylvania with a vengeance.  I’m talking 90 degree weather last week.  But I haven’t complained.  Not for a second.  I’ll take warm weather however and whenever I can get it.

But this week, fall fell practically overnight.  From the nineties to the sixties.  It was downright COLD this morning.  Brrrrrr . . .  I am trying not to dread the next six months too much.  I detest being cold.  And the older I get, the more I hate it.

I’m trying to look on the bright side.  My hair already looks TONS better.  I know that cutting out a lot of the frizzies helped, but so has the drop in humidity.  It just FEELS better.

Also.

I’ve found that it looks really cute if I flip out the ends a bit.  Very hip and fun.  Which is a very new concept to my hair.  Cause there ain’t nuttin’ hip and fun about a ponytail, which has pretty much been my status quo for the past, oh, fifteen years.  In other words, I’m totally enjoying my new ‘do.

Oh, and I did buy a few of the products yall suggested.  I’ll let you know how it goes!

We had a fun little family birthday party for R on Wednesday night.  She just loves her Animal Hospital.  She wouldn’t stop playing with it.  She also got a new baby doll from my infamous friend Lisa, who was at her birth and therefore holds a special place in her heart for my little R, even though she has three precious little ones of her own.  Grammie sent her a new outfit and a dollie high chair.  And my inlaws are coming on Sunday, so we will celebrate her birthday again and have ANOTHER cake.

Hey, any excuse for a cake, right?

My son had to get two teeth extracted yesterday.  What a trooper!  The dentist told him he was better than most adults.  (The dentist was referring to his mother, I’m sure.  I hyperventilate at the very site of that novocaine needle.)  D is losing his baby teeth rather late.  He’s almost eight and now has lost a total of five teeth (including the extracted ones).

I think he was so excited to get rid of those things, he didn’t care what kind of agony he had to endure in the process.  Of course, the tooth fairy was extra generous with him this time.

TGIF!!  I tell ya, this has been a long week, and I’m not sure why.  Tomorrow I meet up with my best college friend for a day of shopping, lunch, and I’m sure lots of conversation.  And the best part is, NO KIDS!  We each have three, and we are both leaving them to spend quality time with their daddies so we can catch up without any distractions.  Now, I ask you.  Does it get any better than that?  I didn’t think so.

One more thing.  Wayne Newton?  Buh-Bye.  Now, we can actually have a dance competition.

I think I’m all caught up here.  Have a great weekend, yall!

  1. Isn’t the fall weather awesome! I am really enjoying wearing some sweaters and jeans although I’m still holding out on the flip flops. I really need to get some cute new boots!
