Fall 2015 Fashion Trend: Fringe

Today I’m teaming up with some of my fashion blogger friends to share how we wear one of the biggest fashion trends this fall: FRINGE!

Fringe is everywhere this season, from shoes and handbags to sweaters and jackets. Fringe can be fun, but it’s one of those trends I like to take in small doses.

I have my eye out for a pair of booties with just the right amount of fringe, but for now, the only fringe I have in my wardrobe is on 2 of my ponchos. Because fringe on a poncho is a classic look, it easily fits into my personal style aesthetic while keeping my outfits on trend.

I wore this outfit twice last weekend — on Saturday night to a family reunion, and on Sunday morning to church.

It was chilly, so I wore this burgundy long-sleeve tee underneath the poncho. I like the combination of grey and burgundy. I felt like I needed a long pendant necklace to break up the expanse of grey, so I chose this mixed metal pendant on a leather cord. Then I just added a silver chain link bracelet, my mixed metal watch, and silver hoop earrings.

Here’s a look at the back. The poncho is from QVC, but unfortunately it is sold out. Grey ponchos are not hard to find these days, though. Here are a few options.

The black skinny pants are fleece-lined, so I was toasty warm despite the chill in the air. I wish I could link you to something similar. I LOVE these pants. They were sent to me from Goodnight Macaroon for a blogging promotion a couple of years ago. But a pair of black ponte skinny pants would definitely achieve the same look.

The shoes are my Naturalizer booties that are also no longer available. These are similar though. I actually changed into flat riding boots after I took these pictures. I like the heels with the outfit, but my feet are still recovering from a running injury, and I’m not quite ready to wear heels for any length of time. I’m SO afraid of re-injuring myself. Point being, either knee-high boots or ankle booties or even pumps would work with this outfit.

I carried my black moto hobo bag because I felt it blended well with the outfit. My port crossbody would have been cute too, and IT IS BEING PRICE MATCHED right now! That means it’s 20% off at Nordstrom because it’s on sale somewhere else. I love their price matching policy.

  1. Ohhh I was so hoping to grab the rebekkah minkoff bag….but it is not showing as price matching today…I missed it. Would love to see the fringe boots you are considering. You always look adorable!

  2. I love this poncho! It looks fantastic with the dark skinny jeans as well! I’m so excited for Fall Fashion!

  3. Hi Jo-Lynne! I really like the outfit and the necklace adds that special touch. I went to one Ross store in my area yesterday, hoping to find a poncho like you shared with us, but didn’t have any luck. I will keep looking at other locations and at Kohl’s where I have Kohl’s cash and coupons to use by Monday. The black ponte pants I bought for a function tonight are just a bit short for the black booties I bought, so I was happy to discover ai have black riding boots that I can wear instead. Whew! Unless I have on flats, I don’t am unsure about my ankles showing.

    Have a blessed day!

  4. Just an FYI….DL1961 is on Hautelook today. I don’t know if you subscribe or not, but It only last 3 days.

  5. This is such a great outfit! Good girl in taking care of your foot! I always, always, always come away inspired by at least one thing in your posts. xo
