Daily Mom Style 12.06.12

This has been a fun week! I have had a lot going on and a lot of reasons to get dressed up.

day 1

I wore this last Thursday night to a blogger event at Longwood Gardens. I knew it would be cold so I wore my coziest Uggs over my plum skinny jeans over my Cuddl Duds! I debated about the top but eventually settled on this gray and black sweater from a local boutique. I added the long necklace and a link bracelet for accessories. I think the outfit looks better with my black leather boots, but I was glad I was wearing my warmest ones when I was walking about in 25-degree weather.

day 2

I wore this cozy outfit on a chilly Friday to a dental appointment. Good times. I wanted to be warm so I wore my lined Ugg boots over skinny jeans and this hooded black cardigan. I wanted to wear this scarf, so I pulled out a lavender tank to go with it.

day 3

I wore this to my husband’s holiday office party. Yes, it’s pretty casual but the party was at a bowling alley this year. (And no, I did not bowl. Are ya new here!???) I know black and denim is a bit of a copout but I will never tire of it.

I ended up switching out the bracelet and purse, but I confess it didn’t add much excitement to the outfit. Prolly coulda used a necklace too. Still, I felt good. I’m a plain jane at heart, what can I say?

day 4

I wore this to church on Sunday. (Wow, the outdoor photos are SO MUCH better than indoor!!)

The taupe cardigan is from Target, and I paired it with an orange tank and dark skinny jeans. The embellished brown flats are from Nine West (years ago), and the burgundy suede hobo style bag is also verrry old. I got it on a super awesome discount at the Coach Outlet. I accessorized with a mixed stone necklace from Silpada.

day 5

On Monday I worked from home all day and went nowhere after my workout early in the morning so I put on yoga pants and this marled cowl neck hoodie from the Oakley outlet over a lavender tank and my Ugg slippers and I felt so comfy all day long. I figure the necklace cancels out the slippers, right?

day 6

I wore this to a friend’s jewelry party yesterday. The weather has warmed up so I used the opportunity to wear my Ella Moss striped top. Once again, skinny jeans and boots rule the day. This time I wore my Franco Sarto Poet boots, and I debuted my boot socks for the season. Not sure the oatmeal color did anything for the outfit, though. I carried my burgundy suede hobo again, and I doubled up this Stella & Dot coin necklace to fill the neckline.

And that’s it for this week. For more fashion-over-40 inspiration, check out all of my Daily Mom Style posts.

  1. I recognize the bag on day 4 and 6-I have one!! Did we buy it at the same time? I was thinking of getting rid of mine because I haven’t used it in ages-maybe I’ll drag it out today. You look great as always!

    1. YES! We bought them together! I usually carry it a few times during the fall. It’s still a great color, but mine isn’t in such good shape. I should probably take it somewhere and get it cared for.

  2. The necklace definitely cancels out the slippers!

My favorites are the first and last outfit, but they are all fabulous. I really want to get a pair of boot socks. Love the way they look.

  3. I had no idea that Uggs made boots like that. I really want to get some boots (No, I don’t have any) and I really like those. I assume they’re warm and comfy as well as look good.

I love that Target cardigan. I might have said that the last time you posted it too. Actually, I really like all of these outfits.

    1. Yes those boots are the bees knees! They are fleece lined (or shearling or WHATEVER) all the way down and around your feet, you can wear them with or without socks, and I adore them!! 🙂

  4. I’m obssessed with lounge clothes and I love that Oakley hoodie. Wonder if I can find it online?
And oh my word, what are those boots? Love.
    Coming from the pleated poppy!

  5. I have that Target cardigan in gray and I love it! Mine is much shorter than yours is through the torso so obviously i bought a size too small ;). I love wearing it over a fitted black dress I own with gray tights and short black boots!

  6. You look fantastic! I love the striped shirt in the last post and I love your riding boots 🙂 I find myself wearing mine every single weekend!

  7. I really liked your outfit for the bowling party. Black and jeans can look great as long as you have the right black top and nice shoes! I think I liked the first bracelet and bag better but both look nice.

  8. You look great as always, very much an inspiration to *get dressed*! What a simple self-esteem booster! And personally I love the bowling outfit. I do black & denim all the time 🙂 So if you’re a plain jane at heart, then I’m practically Amish! My style (self & home) is simple, what can I say?!

  9. Cute! Love the top and boot socks in the last photo! And I love bowling–what a fun company party. I ordered the wrap sweater in brown. 🙂
