OOTD-Daily-Mom-Style

The weather is still up and down here in Philly, as you will see illustrated plainly by my outfit photos this week! Come on, summer!!!! I am done with spring!

Day 1

We had a few hot, humid days before the frigid temps set in again. I celebrated by wearing these khaki shorts (Banana Republic) with an orange tank (J.Crew Factory) and my favorite embellished brown Frye sandals (similar). I chose the necklace with the copper chain because it pulls in the brown from the sandals.

I don’t know why these photos came out so grainy, but the necklace is from Lisa at Studio Jewel, and this is my JanMary Designs bracelet — love the orange and green combo. Both pieces of jewelry were gifts. I love having talented friends!

Day 2

The next day was warm but rainy, and I had a brunch date with some good friends. I wanted to wear this orange embellished top that was an Old Navy purchase last summer. I paired it with my white jeans (DL1961 Angel Ankle Skinny in Milk) and my brown Frye sandals to pull from the brown beading on the top. I also pulled out this copper bracelet (Madewell) to go with the theme.

I decided that a necklace might compete with the beading on the top so I opted for big earrings instead — copper to go with the bracelet and to pull in the brown from the shoes and the beads on the blouse. You can *barely* see my earrings in this photo — Studio Jewel again!

Something about this outfit doesn’t quite work, and I think it’s that the top is too long and voluminous and needs skinnier pants and probably also a heel. I really should try it on again and make it work — maybe that will be my next “outfit evolution” post!

Day 3

This is just a simple outfit I threw together to do my daily mom thing — GAP’s Essential short-sleeve T with my old faithful Joe’s Jeans cuffed jeans shorts (sorta similar; mine were much cheaper!!). I love the scooped neckline — much more flattering than a crew neck and just as easy to wear. I tried to dress it up with the turquoise beaded necklace that I received as part of a promotion with Everyday Icing. Then I discovered these flip-flops (Aerosole) in the back of my closet and voila! An outfit was born!

Day 4

Then it got cold. VERRRRY COLD. We decided to take a family day on Saturday and go to a local farm where they have an outdoor cafe and live music. The scenery is gorgeous, the food is always delicious, and the music makes for a fun atmosphere. It was sunny, but it was so very windy. I wore my oldest jeans and my new Puma sneakers and layered a fleece sweatshirt over a long-sleeved blue tee, and then I added a scarf. I was still cold. I wish I’d had another layer.

Day 5

Sunday was cold as well but not QUITE as bad as Saturday. I wore a jean jacket (CAbi) over my red top (LOFT) with a white eyelet skirt (J.Crew Factory). The snakeskin wedges (by Coach, picked up on clearance at Bloomies a few years ago) are a favorite that I look forward to wearing every summer, and the red patent handbag (Nordstrom Rack) seemed like the perfect finishing touch.

Day 6

Finally, this is what I wore on Memorial Day to a cookout at a friend’s house. It was much warmer, thank goodness! We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather for a cookout. I love this medallion slub dolman tee from GAP. It’s so soft and easy to wear and the design is fun.

  1. Orange is my favorite color! I love that you are wearing it so much! I especially like that outfit with the orange top and white skirt.

  2. Cute outfits!

The weather has been crazy here too. I never know how to dress my kids in the morning for school. Usually it’s just in layers that they can peel off in the afternoon.

Love your red bag and that second orange blouse.
