Corn OFF the Cob

Making corn off the cob is so easy, and there’s no dental floss required!!!

Ina has gone and done it again. File this in the “why didn’t I think of this” category.

I have three kids, each with some sort of orthodontic apparatus, and my own teeth seem to catch food like it’s a sport. Corn on the cob has become more of a hassle than it’s worth, but we all love fresh corn.

Then someone posted a link on Facebook to this recipe from Ina Garten for fresh sautéed corn. I mean! Of course!!!

You just cut it off the cob when it’s still raw, heat some butter in a shallow sauté pan on the stove, throw in the corn, stir it around for 5-10 minutes or until it’s perfectly crisp-tender, salt and pepper, and serve! Voila!

It’s so easy you don’t even need a recipe. But if you’re like me, and you will forget all about this and need to print it out and keep it somewhere, here you go.

  1. Oh, I love fresh corn, too! I very rarely get to enjoy it, though, because there are but a handful of days each year when I can find organic (non GMO) corn at the market. Is it more readily available in your neck of the woods or do you not worry about finding non GMO corn? Just curious.

  2. I posted this about a week or so ago – anything Ina Garten is good. And with braces on my daughter, this recipe is a necessity this time of year!
