Coffee Talk / Instagram Roundup

Happy Sunday! It’s time for another Coffee Chat and Instagram Recap!

Instagram Recap

This week my Instagram postings were mostly daily outfits and blog posts. It isn’t that I haven’t been doing stuff. It’s been a busy week, but it’s been nothing pretty or exciting. My husband has been out of town, so 100% of the kid and household duties have been on my plate this week.

I went to the doctor once, the gym twice, and PT three times. I ran once (yay! I’m just dealing with an angry IT band, nothing serious) and I really should have run more, but again, it’s been busy.

We had a few GORGEOUS days weather-wise, but we’ll be paying for it this week, evidently. It’s supposed to rain for 3 days straight, and temperatures are predicted to be in the 40s and 50s most of the time. It’s typical March weather, but after the tease we’ve had, it’s going to be a hard pill to swallow. I detest this time of year in our area. I grew up in the south, and even though it was only a 6 hour drive from here, the weather is much nicer there in the spring. For example, this week they’re going to be in the 70s and we’re in the 50s.

Anyway, be prepared for me to complain about the weather for the next two months. After 20 years in this area, I still can’t get used to it.

So that’s it for my #CoffeeTalk, sorry there wasn’t more to say. I feel like physical therapy is a permanent fixture in my life, and the weather seems to be the most interesting thing I can find to talk about.

That’s not entirely true. There’s the elephant in the room — this insane election season. I find it fascinating if not a bit horrifying to watch it all play out. I have to keep reminding myself that I know the One who is in control of all things, and no matter what happens, my eternal hope is secure. In the meanwhile, all I can do is pray that common decency wins out.

On that note, here’s what I wore this week. You know, the important things. Ha!

I’m too lazy to re-organize them, so we’re going to go backwards this week.

I posted this yesterday morning, on my way out to Bible Study. It was chilly so I threw on my marled cardigan from my winter capsule over a coral tee and skinny jeans. I cuffed the jeans once for a more casual/spring look, and the espadrilles are from Payless. I’m working with them on a few outfit posts this spring.

What I Wore: Marled Sweater, Loft Vintage Broken In Tee, DL961 Emma skinnies, Payless espadrille wedges

espadrille wedges c/o Payless // pendant necklace

My DL1961 Emma skinnies have been on repeat this week!

bracelets c/o Alex and Ani // my Stella & Dot Engravable Disk Necklace

This Dolman Jetsetter Tee from White House Black Market is my new fave. Every season, I like to have at least one versatile black top that goes with everything. I’m loving this relaxed style with the dolman sleeve. I used to wear my tops more form fitting, but now that I’m older, ahem… I appreciate these relaxed styles so much more!

I put this outfit together, planning for my upcoming Payless posts. The dress is from Ross last year, and the Romeo Block Heel Sandals are from Payless. The block heel is a huge trend this year, and I love it for it’s stability and practicality. Funny, I remember that my mom had a pair of shoes almost just like these back in the 70s, except they were brown. What goes around comes around, right!?!

And I wrote about this book HERE. I can’t wait to finish it. I’m already feeling better, paying more attention to eating real food. I was tempted to order out and snack for dinner this week with my husband gone, but instead I made good meals for the kids and me, and I’m so glad I did.

Another easy outfit. This top is sold out, but I got it at the Etsy Everfitte shop and they have a ton of other cute graphic tees and tanks.

Another casual outfit for a weekday — everything is old. The sweater is from American Eagle Outfitters.

On one of the warmer days this week, I wore my jean skirt with this grey top. I’m struggling with what tops to wear with skirts now that the trend is more voluminous on top. I prefer a top that is fitted and not too long and stays untucked with a pencil skirt. I looked online, and there is a lot of the front-tucking going on with skirts as well as pants, so I tried it. It’s okay, but honestly, I’m not a huge fan of this look.

And this one is HERE. I’m going to try this blouse with heels and white jeans before I make a final decision about whether it stays or goes.

I posted this as I was headed out for a day of errands that included PT. I tried to make a basic workout outfit cute with a jean jacket and some accessories.

And that’s about all I’ve got!

  1. I just stumbled upon you on Pinterest and I love it! Trying to be more fashionable looking instead of frumpy looking…I’ve already bought a demon jacket and skinny jeans! Now looking for a pair of wedge sandals. Thanks for the inspiration and looking forward to your next pin!
