The NEW and IMPROVED Musings of a Housewife!

So excited to reveal the NEW and IMPROVED Musings of a Housewife! If you read via RSS or email, why dontcha hop on over and take a looksee!?

Shay Bocks waved her magic wand and now I am updated to a responsive, mobile-friendly theme with bigger photos and a freshly updated design. I wanted to keep the same look and feel as I had before but update it a bit. I’m thrilled with it! THRILLED!!

Check out my fancy nancy Recipe Index! It will automatically populate when I publish new recipes.

I decided not to create categories on the home page for my more popular topics. I think it’s just as easy to use the navigation bar at the top of the page. So my home page is still my most recent posts.

We ditched the slider and instead my most recent featured posts are listed on the sidebar now.

I have some changes I want to make to the home page still, I’m waiting for Shay to get back to me on that. So as you can see, we’re still tweaking things… not to be confused with twerking… heh.

You can now navigate from post to post with links at the bottom of each post, as well as navigating from one page to the next to see older posts. That was a request in my Reader Survey earlier this year.

I’m working on getting my photos to display consistently and the popular posts widget in the footer to load properly, and I have a few extra customizations I hope to implement, but for the most part, my new look is complete!!

Please poke around and let me know if anything looks amiss. We’re still ironing out the kinks.

There’s something about a new blog design . . . it’s like getting a new handbag. I just want to keep looking at  it!!

I can’t decide if I like the new recipe index. I liked that I could see a list of everything before. Right now it takes at least 2 clicks to see more than 10 different main dishes. When you click see more you see the same first 8 and only 2 more recipes til you click yet again. I like seeing the pictures, but not if it means I can’t see everything at once. At least being able to see one full category per page would be helpful. I guess I’ll just have to search more now instead of just scrolling to find what I want lol.

ooo I absolutely love your new design. Looks like it got a bit more modern. The first feeling I had when i went on here today was “hmmm there is something different, but I cant quite put my finger on it”. Imagine how long it would have taken me to figure things out had this post not been here ;). -well, id probably get it as I scrolled to see the second post. -I really like the overview one gets now with with all the posts.

Anyhow, I am such a talker. I actually went in here to read your new posts -which is what I am going to do as soon as I stop typing.

I also want to say that I tried your chocolate drink – I usually drink simple non-sweet drinks, I like drinks with lime or lemon, or dry wine and so on. But. I must say I enjoyed your recipe, it was enough with one of those drink bcs it was so sweet. But the best part was that my friends got overexcited over my new chocolate-endeavor.

Gosh, why do my comments always become as long as a blog post? xD

Your site is all jumbled up on my ipad. The box to enter your email is on top of your main logo. There is the word navigation at the top, but it doesn’t do anything. If this were my first visit to your site, I probably wouldn’t be back, but fortunately it’s not. So I will keep checking and hope it improves because I like your content.
