28 Days of Winter Outfits: Days 9 & 10

With the Valentine’s Day style post yesterday, I didn’t bother posting my 28 Days of Outfits post. I figured y’all are seeing enough of me this week so I decided to combine days 9 and 10.

I wore this yesterday. All I hd to do was go to the orthodontist with the kids, but this challenge is keeping me honest, and I make sure to get showered and dressed first thing in the morning!

Can you tell how happy I am to be wearing my beloved Frye boots!??? I splurged on them when I was in Seattle back in September when I was weaning out of my medical boot for the stress fracture. I only got to enjoy them for a few weeks before I was diagnosed with a torn tendon in the same foot and I was relegated to that blasted medical boot again.

Soon I was allowed to wear a brace instead, but it only fit into certain boots, and not these. Plus, I didn’t dare risk stretching them out. But I’m once AGAIN weaning off my medical support mechanisms, so I wasted no time breaking out my favorite boots.

This outfit is one I’ve been wanting to wear for a while, but it’s been too chilly for a jean jacket, and not very practical to wear a parka over top. It was a mild morning yesterday so I put decided to put it on. I was inspired by this outfit on Pinterest. (If you use Pinterest, be sure you’re following me! I pin lots of fashion and food.)

I’ve worn the denim jacket with these army green cargos before, but this is the first time I put the striped tee with it. The Stella & Dot Rebel Pendant and Alex and Ani bracelets were the perfect finishing touch.

Shop the look: denim jacket c/o CAbi (similar) // LOFT striped tee (similar) // army green cargo skinnies via Stitch Fix (similar) // Frye Phillip Harness Tall boots in Whiskey // R Minknoff MAC Mini (current colors) // Stella & Dot Rebel Pendant // Alex & Ani Wire Bangles

Today I’m cheating and re-wearing the outfit from Day 1. I was planning to wear a different outfit every day, but I really wanted to wear this to have lunch with friends. Since I posted a few extra outfits over the weekend, I figured I’m allowed a repeat.

  1. I received my first stitch fix box today and can’t wait to try things on. I already know the scarf is a keeper. I follow the walking in grace and beauty blog as well and have seen the stitch fix outfits you two put together. Love them. So as a 41 year old stay home mom in a rut I had to try stitch fix.

      1. The fix was very much my style. So glad I sent good notes on what I like and dislike. I would have kept evetything, but a few items fit weird. I kept the scarf and one top, both which I really liked and the top fit perfect. I plan on wearing my two items to a causal event this weekend. So funny how a little box brought a smile on a glumy day.

  2. Love the boots!! Have been in my wish list for a while now. Are they slippery? I’m worried about the lack of traction because of the leather sole.

      1. Thanks for the reply Jo-Lynne. I tried them at the store and that slippery concern kept me from buy them, but they are the best boots I’ve tried so far. I’ll have to cave in and buy them. ☺
