When I agreed to participate in the 28-Day Face Cleanse with the Burt’s Bees Renewal Anti Aging Face Care products, I was excited to get back into the habit of a complete skincare regimen. You can read my initial thoughts here.
I’ve always liked Burt’s Bees products for their lip balms and baby care products, but I don’t usually buy drugstore brands for skincare products, so I was curious to see if their anti-aging face care was up to the job. I’m over 40, and gravity is definitely starting to take its toll, if you know what I mean. I was skeptical but hopeful as I embarked on the 28-day face cleanse.
After using this face care line for a month, I am happy to report back and tell you that it is indeed up to the task. I love the fresh scent of the products, I love how my skin feels when I’m using them, and I love that they’re made without harsh chemicals or toxins. Best of all, they’re affordable.
My favorite product is the Renewal Refining Cleanser. It has a built-in exfoliant that instantly smooths and softens my skin.
I always follow it with the Firming Serum, and by the time I apply my Day Lotion or Night Cream, my skin feels like a baby’s bottom. This is a major feat because my skin tends to be dry and a little bit rough. I’m too lazy to exfoliate regularly, so having that feature built into my cleanser is a major plus.
I tend to get bags under my eyes, so the Soothing Eye Cream has also been a great addition to my skincare arsenal. I’ve been using it morning and night.
The products have a fresh, light scent to them that doesn’t cling to you. The Night Cream is heavy enough to handle my dry skin without leaving me feeling greasy, and the Day Lotion with built-in SPF 30 provides the perfect canvas for my makeup. I love that it includes sunscreen so I don’t need another product for that.
Another bonus to this cleanse is that I am using a serum again. A serum is a must for women of a certain age. It helps firm the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines. This one is gentle and doesn’t irritate my skin.
Beauty Tip: When applying serum and moisturizer to your face, don’t stop at your chin. Your neck and décolletage will age you well before your face, so it’s super important to apply your skincare products down into your neck and chest areas. I’ve been faithful about doing this for the past month, and I definitely see a difference.
As I’ve been participating in this cleanse, I’ve also tried to drink more water and be mindful of my diet. I guess we all need a reset every once in a while, and this came at a great time for me with summer coming and spending more time in the sun. I’m thrilled with the Burt’s Bees Renewal Face Care line, and I plan to keep using it for the foreseeable future.
