2012 Holiday Gift Guide: For Runners

As you know, I’m a budding runner. So this list is largely made up of things that I have and love, or things that I want! Point being, everything on this list is something I wholeheartedly endorse. I only feature products that I love. I hope you find some holiday gift giving inspiration for the runner in your life!

Holiday Gift Ideas for Runners

Brite Buds Stereo-to-Mono Reflective Cord Single Earbud | $22.95

Brite Buds Stereo-to-Mono Reflective Cord Single EarbudThese earbuds are reflective so they help maintain your visibility when you’re running in the dark! And they mix both stereo channels of your audio device to a single ear so you can wear only one earbud without sacrificing sound quality — and still hear what’s going on around you with the other ear. LOVE this idea!

Short Buds Short Cord Single Stereo-to-Mono Earbud | $14.95

Short Buds Short Cord Single Stereo-to-Mono EarbudSimilar to the Brite Buds, but cheaper as this one is not reflective. Also, this has a short cord so if you wear an armband (as I do) you don’t have all this extra cord dangling and getting in your way. This one is on my Christmas wish list for sure!

Yurbuds Armband for iPod Touch and iPhone 4/4S | $26.50

Yurbuds Armband for iPod Touch and iPhoneI love this armband for my iPhone. It was a Christmas gift last year from my son, and it has been great. I like that there are two slots so you have a lot of room to adjust. I switch back and forth depending on the season. The Neoprene fabric is comfortable, and it stays put. You can definitely use your iPod through the clear plastic, but it’s not as responsive as without.

Runner’s Discovery Journal | $21.95

Runner's Discovery JournalThis isn’t your typical running handbook. Sara realizes that running is much more a mental discipline than a physical one, a fact to which I can personally attest. This has been my biggest revelation as my running hobby has evolved. This runner’s journal gives you training tips, inspiration, and advice in daily entries designed to help you shift your mindset around what you’re capable of. A very cool gift for the runner in your life! I can’t wait to read it.

Athleta Sports Apparel | Save 20% with code CYBER thru 11/26

I love Athleta’s sports apparel for women. I have so many pieces, I can’t begin to list them all here but I’ll try! Some favorites are my Relay Capris and my Reflective Relay Knickers. This Athleta Quarter Mile Half Zip would make a great gift for the runner in your life. And their tops are all fantastic too.

Athleta Base Miles Touch Gloves | $38 + 20% off with code CYBER thru 11/26

Running in the wintertime can be invigorating and fun, but you need to be dressed appropriately. Gloves are a must, and I love how these are smartphone friendly. See also their Petra Headband By Pistil.

Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS Watch | $129.99

Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS WatchI love my Garmin. Not only does it tell me how far I’ve run and how long I’ve been running, but it tells me my pace as well. If you want an entry-level GPS watch, the Garmin Forerunner 10 is your best bet! (Read my review of the Garmin Forerunner 10 here.)

Although if you are shopping on Cyber Monday, Amazon actually is offering the Garmin Forerunner 410 GPS-Enabled Sports Watch with Heart Rate Monitor for 50% off – it is only $149.99 today which makes it a fabulous deal.

Runner Art : Running Gifts

I love these prints for runners… what a special and unique gift! These beautiful, digitally reproduced watercolor runner prints make the perfect running gift for any runner, whether a marathoner, runner, or jogger.

Does the Garmin talk to you, or is it easy to read? Mapmyrun just dropped the voice coaching when they updated their app which means no more telling me how fast I’m going and how far. I am a bit annoyed. Not willing to pay for a pro account though.
